Great coffee. Nice and hot. Staff were also very friendly. This is definitely at the top of my list so far for coffee around this area. On a list where the vast majority are at the bottom, this is saying something! I didn't eat but the food looked good. Nice little seating area on the pavement with a few trees for shade. The street isn't busy so less car fumes to go with your beverage but also easy parking. 😁☕

I'm a local. This is my most favourite cafe in town. The food is simple but superb, the coffee fantastic, the staff friendly, the vibe of the place laid back with class. Love eating on the street in the sunshine with hardly any cars passing by - mostly just people. You can also eat out back in the courtyard. Art Deco/Art Nouveau interior is unique for Newcastle too.

This is a lovely little cafe with good coffee, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. The food on the whole was good but my bacon and egg roll was served on an over charred bun and I did want to waste food, so let it slide. The place was busy, so obviously the locals rate the place, so I would say it's worth a visit.

Coffee is fine...but takes forever. Service is lacking. Some staff ignore you when you enter and one server in particular is beyond rude. She is stand offish and carries on her conversation, neglecting her customers. Her laugh is so loud and obnoxious it can be heard echoing down the street. Every time I have been in there she has messed up the order in our Keep Cups...and when asked to clarify which was a flat white and which was a cappuccino she replied "You should know, they are your cups." (That she put the coffee into). We then opened the lids to see which one had chocolate and neither did, she then snapped "they are both the same, 2 shots and milk. What? Do you want chocolate?" (Obviously, or we would have ordered 2 flat whites). She then proceeded to reach over and shake the chocolate across the counter toward the cup, covering half my arm. We just stood there gobsmacked. I have worked in cafés before and understand that customers can be difficult and despite this scathing review, I was polite to her at the time. The reason for the review is that she has always been this rude when we have gone in there, we left and the first thing we said was that we would never go in there again. It is disappointing because some of the other guys are nice and it is a good location. But when she is working....a more relaxing experience could be had drinking a take away coffee down the road in the middle of the light rail...

Staff were friendly enough but the overall service and food was disappointing. An hour into the morning and they had run out of eggs for omelettes, no avocado, and a couple other things (because they didnt order ahead with good friday yesterday). Despite three staff on and not many customers, both coffees and food had a long wait time (even cold brew). By the time our food did arrive (initially to the wrong table) they had now run out of greens, the calabrese piadina I ordered was essentially now just salami peppers and a huge puddle of oil. Considering the 20%(!) Easter surcharge this is taking the piss and not good enough despite the...

Fantastic little cafe that does all the important things right. A super friendly owner and crew cater for the regulars who are easy to pick as the staff often know them by name and order (despite there being a lot of them)! However importantly, they are so genuine in all their interactions with both locals and visitors. Good coffee, generous menu given the size of the kitchen footprint and funky layout. Tuck yourself into a cosy corner inside with the paper or a book of choice, or bask in the morning sunshine out on the pavement or out the back and just...
