Really nice atmosphere and food has never disappointed but the service is terrible and completely uninviting. I came to the George for the first time 5 months ago and haven’t been back until today because I experienced such horrible service. I thought that I might try it again giving the benefit of the doubt, and experienced the same poor service I received the first time I was there! The staff were rude and looked disgusted with my presence, when I went to pay, the staff member did not smile or say any please or thank you, just walked away after putting the price on the machine. I live locally and due to proximity I've given this place the benefit of the doubt so many times but the coffee is always terrible. I find it undrinkable. They are in a great location and keep up business from commuter traffic so I always get fooled into giving it another go because it always seems busy but after another cup of coffee poured down the drain I can finally leave this review with confidence. The service of this café is sadly disengaged to rude and judgy, no matter how nice you, as a CUSTOMER SPENDING money, are. I have been many times and at different days, but always leave feeling unwelcome by the staff. A 'hi, how are you today?' with a warm Sunday smile wouldn't hurt (smile extra for the penalty rates)!
