I must have jinxed myself by leaving a good review because tell me why I left a GLOWING review for this business only for my next visit with my chronically ill brother to give us and our DOG food poisoning. I know it was here because first off, he only had toast and a cup of tea for breakfast this morning. (We thought Zarraffas would be a nice treat. Little did we know 💀). Second off, I bought a second drink for my brother because he said the first one tasted weird. I also sipped it and thought it tasted weird but I figured it was because we weren't used to the syrup they used so I threw it out (It was lukewarm when they handed it to him. It was an iced drink. That should've clued me in but because of all my other great experiences I thought it was a me problem, not a them problem.) and got him a chocolate fusion instead. When I was inside, there was a scrawny brond boy asking his co-workers how to make certain drinks and how to clean the blenders? I can only hope he wasn't doing both at the same time, but if he was, that would explain why we were so ill. They also changed their pup cups to lukewarm steamed foam instead of whip cream, which is fine if that's how it is, but my dog wouldn't even drink it. Just some feedback. They also got my drink order wrong as well but that seems to pale in comparison to what happened to my brother. He is STILL throwing up and we were there at 2pm. I was a regular customer (Upon reflection, too regular, looking at the obscene amount of money I've spent their this year alone so I could screenshot the transactions) but I really can't imagine going back here now 💀 I used to drive twenty minutes out of my way to come here. So here's me thinking that Zarraffa's is just a café with a drive through conveniently located to maximize passing traffic on Pacific Hwy, Belmont. It was New Years day and my normal café's were closed. I thought ok I'll give these guys a go, surely it'll have to be better than McDonald's coffee. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly genuine welcome. I ordered my Double Shot Cap takeaway. As the young lady was warning up my milk, I noticed that there was a thermometer in the milk. I told her I didn't want my coffee extra hot. She told me that she heat's up the milk to the desired temperature. I thought awesome. Hate when café's overheat the milk . That destroys the taste of the coffee. The takeaway was good so I thought I'll come back later on my way home. I decided to have my Double Shot Cap on the premises. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The coffee had plenty of flavor but wasn't bitter. The premises is clean and well presented. You can easily park outside if you prefer not to go via the Drive Through. If you prefer iced coffee or iced chocolate then Zarraffa's have options available too. They also have a range of sweets and snacks. If you want to take home some coffee to enjoy at home then Zarraffa's have a small range of accessories and a good range of coffee beans in a temperature controlled cabinet that you can enjoy at home. My Mum and I have been loyal drive through customers to Zaraffas Belmont for years, refusing to use any other brand of beans in our machine at home (Midnight cafe ftw), and deliberately planning our outings so that we drive past Zaraffas for a takeaway coffee. Never had a better tasting coffee, and that’s a bold claim coming from two people who have both been baristas and drink on average 6 espresso shots each per day! Just wanted to say a big thank you for the exceptional customer service always shown by all staff. Today I had a particularly great interaction with the owner/manager, who I believe is named Trent?, who went above and beyond to cater to our allergies and even went as far as opening the door for us as I walked in/out with my daughter. We’ve always been treated so wonderfully, but when given the opportunity the staff there will never fail to ensure you have a great experience.
