Joined my locals (yes I’m a local) at the cafe to have one of the best coffees in town. Was greeted by a little old lady sitting at the end of the table asking if I have paid $20 for an armband (for the mardigrass) and I should pay and support locals. I ignored her as I was a local just wanting a coffee, and not wanting to go in the back door to the markets that we knew we had to pay for. Just wanted a coffee!!!! Well,,, she was so angry at every person entering the door stopping them as they entered yelling at them about the $20 armband support our locals…. When people said no I don’t want an armband I just want to go in to cafe she yelled at each and every person (the customer) and told them to get out!!!! She repeatedly yelled on the tops of her lungs I’m the vise president here and I’m sick of people not supporting us so we can pay bills… she grabbed her chair and sat in the doorway holding green tickets demanding anyone who entered to pay and support our bills or go away… she then accused a customer of stealing her chair, had an argument with the other worker there behind the bar (her name was Emma) Emma tried to calm her down and tell her to please not yell at all the customers and allow them to come in and get coffees etc the VISE PRESIDENT old lady who we later found out was connected to the president Max Stone, got so upset with Emma that Emma had to walk away. Emma apologised to the person who was accused of stealing the chair… the vise president also yelled at Dave who was also sitting behind the bar just enjoying life and the moment. She was cranky, extremely rude, disrespectful, disruptive and didn’t have a peaceful bone in her body or being which is so against the true vibe and essence of our town. Your cafe lost approximately 80-90 customers in the time that we sat there… the amount of money your cafe would of injected would of being staggering. Well your little old lady VICE PRESIDENT stopped all that money you could of made….. tell her to pull her head in and sit at the back door that goes to the ramp outside instead of the door from the shop stopping all your potential customers from entering and purchasing from you… it was the first time in years I’ve encountered anything like this in our community and to see it was one of our own who put such a negative spin on such a great event for our community….. the vice president needs to be fired!!!! On another note because I ignored her when I entered we had a great coffee and even shouted a couple a coffee cause they gave great conversation… we will be back of course cause I live here in nimbin but I hope you leave her out of your cafe during mardigrass. Money hungry aggressive little human...
Read moreWhat can I say, I live in the bar on most days when I visit the village of Nimbin. I embark on the journey of 45 minutes from Modanville mostly because I can't stand the crap, treacherous back roads that 'the locals' totally accept as the way to the best Night Life Establishment of the century. Caroline gives great advice, as does Frankie, Karen rolls the best joints and makes the best coffees too. Michael, the head of this place is the 'Santa' that we all wanted as kids and his occasional supervision has given much change in my own 'cannabis journey'. The man knows his 'shit' and is such a colourful character that we value whatever he has to say. We're not saying we accept it all, but he has a way of imparting knowledge from his experience and we definitely like that. Michael keep up the 'good' work, you've influenced us from downtown western suburbs of Sydney (Doonside) to immigrate to the Nimbin, the new Amsterdam...
