Riversedge Cafe — Restaurant in Northam

Visited the cafe this morning following an incredible balloon ride. Due to the large group booking a set breakfast was being served, I asked the friendly wait staff if I could possibly have my eggs scrambled instead of poached (would not have been an issue if this could not have been accommodated) but they agreed.

I was enjoying the scenery when a frazzled older lady (possibly the manager) plonked my breakfast down in front of me and asked quite rudely “are you pregnant” while I was at a table with strangers. I could have died of embarrassment.

When I realised that it was because I had ordered scrambled eggs I just said “no, it’s just that I don’t like poached eggs” and she snapped “oh ok so you’re just making me work harder then”

I barely touched my breakfast and wanted to leave as quickly as possibly. It really put a damper on an otherwise amazing morning.

It was Terrible Experience! I went to the counter to place an order. I said hello to the Old Lady (Grey hair) . I was then ignored for about 5min while she was glaring at me huffing and puffing. Finally she looks at me and says we are closing the kitchen at 12:30 while not even asking me what I wanted. It might of just been a drink which I’m sure the kitchen could’ve made! We are locals and if this is how we are treated, then we won’t be coming back will stick to our local Dome, Whose staff said, apparently you guys are trying to poach them but they dont want to work for Riversedge, I totally get why they wouldn’t want to come and work in such an...

Ordered a long black and a dirty chai. Long black was burnt and the chai was simply awful, I would definitely avoid the chai here in future.

I ordered waffles and they were the best part of the meal, just perfect. Especially with the caramelised bananas, 10/10. My partner however ordered the avocado smash, which had too much pesto, too much oil and not enough toast. Tried it myself and it was both bland and overpowering at the same time.

The staff are friendly and the view is fantastic. Would come back for the waffles but very little else. Good cake...
