Had the battered lobster stanga..... My suggestion is take it off the menu or rename it as 'fishy cake' then change the price accordingly. Nothing about it resembled lobster nor did it taste of lobster. What an insult to the lobster. What I envisaged was chunks of lobster sandwiched between turkish bread or sour dough bread, not those two squashed breads top & bottom of that thick fishy cake you served up. Attempts were made to eat it but had to abandon the effort. A very disappointing experience...
On a different matter, why do those who choose to eat off the snacks menu have to be seated on the high chairs & tables. While waiting for our meal we observed an older couple & one other be seated at the tables like ours, looked at the menu.....then got the bar snacks menu & opted to order off that. They were then told because of ordering off that menu they had to sit on those high, no back chairs.....SERIOUSLY ... have some respect & compassion for age. Why segregate because of different menus. Let people sit where it's comfortable for them. I mean to say you've got a TV on the wall & paper on the tables in the so called fine dining area .. (tacky & tasteless)
Update.. Thank you for your response and explaining the farce - that explains it all. Had that description of ingredients been on the menu, one would not have ordered it. Uhm, as for speaking to us - I think you must have us muddled with another customer. Our orders were taken by your staff member along with any queries. You brought our meals out only.....there was no engaging of conversation between us other than the polite thank you after placement of the meals. I will now bid you...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked in to venue we were impressed. This is a small intimate setting with led lighting on the surrounding lawn, festoon lighting on the veranda and candle lit tables.
We were expecting to be able to choose from the menu but they had recently decided to offer set menu only. At first I was slightly disappointed but from the first bite my mind was changed. Having a set menu encouraged us to try plates we would have not chosen otherwise, every meal was flavourful and the servings were large enough to leave us both full and satisfied at the end of the night.
Service was a little slower but this helped us get into some good conversation and enjoy the atmosphere. From start to finish it was approximately 1.5 hours.
Also note for alcohol this is a byo venue only.
We were both impressed and will be back next time...
Read moreOne of the best meals I've had in Pemby!!!
Set in the old woodcraft gallery, the smell of the smoker on arrival drew you up to the path to the sound of some delightful mood music and a nice setting under festoon lights. Currently only a small seating area as the business is just starting and hope the town can accommodate a higher demand.
There was a set menu which was great but not many kid suitable options and ours didn't appreciate the fine dining experience focusing more on the dip bread đ, and choosing to run around the garden.
You couldnt fault the food and came out well timed between courses. We're both full by the end of the meal.
Currently BYO so bring a bottle of red if that's your thing.
We'll likely be our new go-to when on our regular trip down that way. Hope the business goes well. Doing great...
