I guess 5 out of 5 for just one visit is a bit rich, but I really think it deserves it. Saw it, thought it was just a burger and chips style place so went in and was surprised with the wide menu at quite reasonable prices. I chose a warm chicken salad, lass bought it to my table about 8 mins later and I was blown away, great serving of chicken amongst lovely salad which included avocado slices and some lovely cooked haloumi. Just a delicious meal. When I ordered in the shop I actually thought, oh this is fairly quaint and basic, no one sitting inside at tables and I went out the front where there are a couple of tables and sat there. While I'm waiting and while I'm eating people are coming out of shop! What the! I obviously missed something so when finished I took my cutlery etc back inside and said my thanks then took a peek out the back! Wow it looked like something from a old surfie movie, several tables and booths, it looked great, yeah some would say dated but I thought dated in a good way. Can't wait to bring family back for a meal. Very happy patron. Edit; so I did take the family (grandkids) back and let me say that's it's a rare occasion that 4, 6, and 9 year old are all happy at the one meal! But after some debate about what they'd have and then getting it fairly quick they all enjoyed, their burger, nuggets and fish all accompanied by chips. Plus the colouring pages and pencils helped! The youngest looked around when we got inside and said "wow this is really olden!" but they all liked...
Read moreIt was a DISGRACE - no gloves no washed hands - girl serving at counter couldn't even work out change for a bottle water (picky yes) but I've never seen food prepared on plastic plates ON THE FRONT COUNTER- the food yes prepared at the front counter where you get served (not on the plates the buns were on the counter) handled by all 3 staff with their dirty bare hands who handled everything from money, food, waitering and cleaning. Not once in he time I was there did they wash hands
Then CHIP MAN aka cook helper who cleaned up ate all the chips left in the bowls from he customers as his sneaky snack but as I said it's all in Your view so you be the judge Oh and the RUDE owner - God please don't touch all his records on display with for sale signs God forbid I did and was told "they're MINE they stay with me " no signs that say display only - I went There to give this business $$$$ and all I get is abuse and contaminated food handling - oh and please do yourselves a favour and check out the toilets if you think I am joking .... I won't be back - for the abuse or the burgers which are average at best hence why they are $9 - we are not tourists we are locals and we will take all out visiting friends elsewhere ... You blew it mate - manners courtesy and basic food prep health standards might save...
Read moreWe visited during the peak season so of course everything was crazy and things will be lost in translation but the main reason for going is that they had gluten free options available and we had someone with celiac disease in our group. We ordered normal burgers for us and a gluten free burger for 1 person in our group. The service was fast and when all the burgers came out we asked the server which one the gluten free burger was, the server said there was no gluten free but he can quickly change the buns, no big drama and during the busy season things can be lost in translation. Well next thing the owner of the restaurant comes out aggressively saying he had a gluten free bun “laying around” and next time we need to tell them that we wanted gluten free while ordering. We quickly defended ourselves saying we did order gluten free but he snapped back that “nothing was written on the order” which was written by his staff. So clearly there was a misunderstanding, we didn’t care about the mix up and it was an easy fix but the aggression and arrogance of the owner coming out to specifically blame the mix up on us, ruined our entire meal. We felt very unwelcomed and like we had to leave straight away. Definitely won’t be back...
