RUDEST HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

Grabbed takeaway coffees here over the years. Have a medical exemption for mask. Never get hassled anywhere for it.

Waiting in line when a woman appears from the back storming past me with her head in the air (not looking at me) and yells ā€œGOT A MASK MATE?ā€ Had no idea she even talking to me as she wasn’t even looking in my direction. She stormed back past me again not looking at me yelling ā€œI GUESS NOT!ā€

I looked at the young guy behind the counter to try get some idea if I was the target of the self righteous, vindictive, performative political statement. He asked ā€œhave you got a mask?ā€

Confirming I was the target of this disgusting approach to a customer I was intrigued to see how my treatment as a customer would continue so I replied ā€œno I don’t have a mask.ā€ The response was ā€œI’ll have to get you to wait outside.ā€ The whole cafe I basically outside with bifold doors extending the entire front facade, It is more like an alfresco area than an indoor area.

I would have thought basic manners would have been to look at the person, maybe greet them and without shouting ask about the mask eg:ā€ G’day mate, have you got a mask?ā€ Or ā€œdo you need a mask?ā€ Given you a talking to a person you know nothing about.

Apparently an opportunity to display ones new found power cannot to go to waste and the behaviour was akin to a Middle Ages religious nut yelling for a sinner to be punished. Not if someone who business it is to interact with people.

Prejudicial, pathetic, childish

I left permanently. Recommend others do...

We arrived mid morning for brekkie and a coffee with great expectations after reading the reviews. Initially service was friendly but asking to change a menu item due to my dietary requirements was not received well Our 3 long blacks were ordered with cream but came out with milk When this was questioned the young lady said it was a mistake, they don't have cream, so bought us some almond milk which was ok but we would have ordered differently had we have known cream was not available The other thing was only one tiny jug which was not full between 3 coffees ? The coffee wasn't great, quite bitter but ok this could be personal taste, at least it was hot The big breakfast is NOT big and is not value for money at $20 take away the 2 huge pieces of toast and the portion was very small We have gone to 100's of cafes and this was not a big breakfast. Look the 2 small eggs (we had poached) were tasty and were cooked well The bacon was thinner then paper with really hard edges, didn't really have any taste The sausage was finger thickness and about 10cm long with no standout taste The hash brown was cooked perfectly as was the tomato but it was a small and only 1/2 a tomato At $ 69.50 for 3 people this was not great value for money taking into consideration the portion size compared...

In all of my years of supporting local businesses have I never had the kitchen staff be so abusive. Easter Sunday was the perfect time to have a local breakfast from our favourite Cafe. I wiped down our table to assist the staff as the kitchen was busy with a Cafe supplies napkin. I politely asked a member in the kitchen if there was a bin at had only to had told that there was a bin to us across the road. WhenI told him that it was a napkin from the restaurant he uttered some abusive comment under his breath. When asked what was said he continued to utter something else under his breath that was not of the standard expected from such great staff. Needless to say that it was embarrassing for all involved and I will never be going back there for any cooked meals again in the future. It's such a shame that one badly mannered member can undo all the good work done by the great front of house staff. Very disappointing. We took our business to San Remo an had a brilliant experience at Beandz and will never be spending money at Burnt Toast...

Great place for brekkie or lunch, we had brekkie and it was a huge meal šŸ˜‹ filled me up for the whole day. Our kid was being fussy and wanted just scrambled eggs and bacon on a croissant (nothing like this was on their menu) but the guy serving us who was excellent by the way said as they weren't that busy he'd sort young fussy out and served exactly what had been asked for! Also highly recommend the iced chocolates with ice cream and cream. Coffee is also excellent. So well deserved 5 out of 5.

Amazing steak and pepper pie - extremely peppery which we loved! Big breakfast was nothing too special. It was served on a plate that dipped in the middle so it was hard not to keep knocking the plate up and down when trying to cut into the food. A flat plate with an even surface would have been much more practical. Service was lovely though, and we enjoyed looking at the quirky artwork in the cafe.
