Big Sausage Fest — Restaurant in Queensland

I'm not a local and was in Murgon for business today. I don't usually do lunch, but I'm glad I did today! My daughter who is fussy and 34, was with me and said the kabana and chips she had was amazing. I had snapper and chips and I've eaten fish and chips Australia wide. This was some of the best I've ever had! There's a bit of a story behind my order and I'm guessing this is a family run business?? I didn't know what I wanted and any suggestions from daughter didn't appeal. The lovely gent that did the cooking overheard me say, I need something I can eat while driving. He walked by me saying, I can cut your snapper into fingers........he had me at snapper! One of my of my absolute favourite fish. The lovely lady serving was very friendly and engaging. We had with beautifully presented food in take out boxes. As promised my fish was cut into crumbed fingers. Beautiful golden crunchy crumbed fingers. I had to end up going to Cherbourg to complete my business. I didn't finish lunch until after business was completed. Now I'm not fond of cold fish and chips, but my lemon covered fish fingers, were still warm and crunchy. I can be spontaneous with good reason and for me driving to Murgon JUST for fish and chips, will be one of my spontaneous times. I'll DEFINITELY be going back! Is there a way to add a pic...

We needed to get a feed after visiting the 55 million years ago museum. Popped into the Big Sausage Fest. They've got a great variety of hotdogs and other food. We ordered the Average Joe, Amigo, Texan and a kids nuggets and chips, along with two kids strawberry milkshakes. The hotdogs were very tasty and the ingredients were fresh. Prices were reasonable too. I cannot speak higher of the owner/operators - both extremely friendly and accommodating. They even gave my two boys a complimentary ice cream each. I also had a great chat with them and they shared some local knowledge too. When we return to Murgon I'll definitely pop in again. A must if...

Ordered the Hawaiian Loaded Fries as well as the Lime thick shake and very much enjoyed them both! It’s very hard to come by a lime shake that doesn’t have unmixed syrup at the bottom but I’ve finally found one! The customer service was great too! Everyone was very friendly. 10/10 would definitely recommend...
