What a great spot for a Saturday lunch. Sadly that lunch was disappointing. Home made sausage rolls sounded nice but were dried out and only half filled with filling, the rest empty pastry. Seems they had been cooked many hours before and kept warm in an oven. Side order of fries to go with the sausage roll was ordered as well. $8 for the serve sounded expensive at the time. It was. What was presented on the plate was a small handful of generic home brand shoestring fries. We estimated about 2.5 chips per $1! For the price I would have expected hand cut fresh potato fries. Others at our table were equally disappointed with their burnt toast and avocado. Wasn’t really worth raising my disappointment with staff as there was nobody over the age of 16 to be seen in the premises and highly expect they wouldn’t take up our concern with management. Take a look at improving what goes out to the customers. Food quality, value for money on the plates and service quality was lacking. Was expecting better. Super disappointed Metz Cafe you need...

I brought a group of us to Café Metz, having booked it about 3 months ago. One of the coldest mornings, we were very happy inside. My food, The Harley subbing bacon with another scrumptious sausage and hash brown for the bread was delicious. Just wondering if they can do half serves for Seniors because it's now 7pm & I haven't had another meal!! Yes I ate nearly everything. Unfortunately the cream and jam (?) for the pancakes was frozen and the bacon & egg wrap a bit too hard for a Senior. But the calamari, poached egg, cakes etc were delicious. The food came so quickly too. I thought with 8 orders, we'd be waiting a while but not so. 2 came out within 5 mins then the rest came out 5 mins later. The staff were so happy & friendly. So refreshing to be greeted with smiles and nothing too much trouble. They even allowed us to keep our minibus in their carpark whilst we looked at the shops and sit out the back until we were altogether again. So thank you so much Café Metz, my little group had a lovely morning with you and...

Come here every weekend for breakfast with family. This time like many other people we brought our dog. We sat him by the table and unfortunately he got off his leash and went to sit by another table. This was obviously unacceptable so I rushed over to apologise while minding my young daughter. The manager came out to scream “this is ACTUALLY A FOOD PREMISES YOU NEED TO GET OUT” …so I was well aware this was a food premises as I just handed the manager who screamed at us 60 dollars for our breakfast. I said right if we have to leave we will need a refund, she came out two minutes later to apologise my mum who was in the toilet while this happened, who was very confused. This lady had a blonde highlight in her hair and the rest was ginger. Thoroughly ruined my perception of this cafe and I won’t be back in if I see her working. What a shame, everyone else seems to have basic respect for the customers, brilliant establishment,...

Best eatery in Canungra. We have tried several other Cafes here & found Cafe Metz has good food selection, friendly staff & several good eating areas. We arrived just on kitchen closing time (2pm) , but the pleasant young female assistant said it was not a problem to still order from the Main menu. ( I'm not too sure why it shuts at 2pm as several more customers came in after us.) Cafe closes at 3.pm. The service was quick & my French Toast had lashings of perfect cooked bacon, caramelised bananas & plenty of maple syrup.(probably would be in my top 2 cafes for French Toast). I can certainly recommend this Cafe & will definitely be back next time we pass through Canungra. And puppy friendly. Not to mention the Carrot Cake was a huge portion & delicious 😋 Pets on outside deck very welcome.

Coffee is reliably good, and the location is truly lovely — a peaceful, scenic spot that makes for a great place to pause. The setting itself is one of its biggest strengths. Service, however, can be a bit inconsistent. Sometimes you’re warmly welcomed with great attention and care, other times it feels like you’re a bit of an afterthought, especially when it’s busy. It can feel a little hit-or-miss — like a small-town version of Domino’s one day, then a boutique café the next. That said, it’s not easy running a café in a small rural town, and Café Metz still delivers more charm and quality than many others in the region. With a little more consistency, it could be exceptional. Worth a visit if you’re in the area

Wow! What a lovely place to stumble upon! From the moment we entered the friendliness and homely feel was obvious. The staff were relating openly and with joy. The patrons seemed comfortable and at ease. We ordered some good to take away, coffee and a big breakfast to share to have in. All arrived within 10-15 mins! The breakfast to share was also presented on 2 separate plates which was a pleasant surprise. The coffee was good and extra hot as requested. Some finer cups would have been the icing on the cake. Food and service a 5 Star rating! Love this place. Would certainly come again and have no hesitancy in recommending this as your cafe of choice for inside or outside dining. 👍
