Went @noon and had steaming hot chicken DUM(way of cooking) biryani, yummy, authentic and delicious. Wiped my plate clean as I was starving. Highly recommended.

23 January 2024 Update Was here after a year and the food was as amazing as a year ago. Mr CHAKRAVARTHI is a humble restaurant owner who has amazing skills and hospitality being tops.

He serves the hungry traveller and the professional with so much humility, that is rare. He is ready to put a meal together for you even if you enter just before he closes after lunch.

When we work hard and forget to get out on time to go eat and have to jump eatery to eatery who reject you bcos it's their break, just call and visit Mr. CHAKRAVARTHI. He will accept you and do all to make you a tasty meal. I salute him for this humility.

I also saw him give away some dessert sweets to an elderly couple as a mark of respect to them. Only a God fearing man will have such humility and respect for the elderly. I wish I lived in Townsville I'll make this my goto restaurant.

But on my every visit to Townsville I make sure I drop in.

What a great place it is.. we are on road trip and on our way back to Brisbane and missing quality food as we can’t cook much.. husband found this place by the reviews and it’s 40 minutes round trip so I was reluctant to spend that long as we are working for the day from the city ..finally hubby convinced me and we went there.. husband ordered a chicken biryani and I asked for dosa(was not sure what to have).. chef suggested me to try Dahl and rice with ghee and pickle( ultimate combo for South Indian vegetarians ).. everything was soo fresh and delicious. After the lunch he offered a complimentary Mysore pak(homemade) which was soo delicious.. Chef made sure that we had the food till the tummy full.. I wish this restaurant is in Melbourne. Would definitely go back whenever we visit this place. A must try for people who want to try Indian “authentic” food… Hospitality 5 star Quality/freshness...
