FISHI WHITSUNDAYS - Fresh Seafood (Cannonvale) — Restaurant in Queensland

Just returned from Airlie Beach. Ordered 1kg of cooked prawns (grade U10/20, which I guess should be a mix of large and medium). Received a huge amount of prawns (4 of us eating and eating and eating and still around 15 went into rubbish bin). I'm not an expert when it comes to prawns grading, but looking at the number of prawns we got and their size, I'd say they were all medium (even small) prawns. Maybe they should add in the description how many prawns (roughly) you'll get per kg (so people know what they're ordering/getting). I was charged $40/kg + $10 delivery to the BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort (just around the corner from Fishi). But what was most disappointing was the expiry date on the label that said September 2022. Well, so much for our "fresh" seafood experience :( The seafood sauce was good though. I was impressed by how pristine everything looked – clearly, freshness is their top priority. I picked up some lobsters, prawns, oysters & fish and they were truly exceptional. The taste was incredibly clean and vibrant, a testament to how fresh they all were. The oysters were that good we ate 48 over two days. You can genuinely taste the difference when seafood is this fresh. The staff were also incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering to chat and give great tips on how to prepare my selections.
