On 9 September at around 21:44, I experienced one of the most disgraceful incidents at Kondari Hotel’s pokies area – something I can no longer ignore.||||I am not a casual visitor; I come here almost every night and spend a significant amount of money. Normally, guests are treated with basic hospitality, often even receiving complimentary items. However, whenever the red-haired staff member is working, the treatment changes dramatically – no water, no courtesy, not even the simplest gesture of hospitality. Tonight was the worst example yet.||||My mother asked for iced water and was rudely refused. When I asked again, I was harshly scolded and told I would not be served, while all other customers around us were served without issue. After deliberately ignoring us, the staff reluctantly gave me a beer I ordered – yet still refused to provide my mother with water. Eventually, a glass of water was placed in front of us, but because of the way we were treated, I did not allow my mother to drink it – I no longer trusted that staff member.||||Later, when there was a minor machine issue, we called for assistance. She came, fixed it, and despite everything I still thanked her. She did not respond – instead she looked at me with hostility and walked away quickly without a word.||||This was not a busy time; the venue was quiet. There is no excuse. The only conclusion is that my mother and I were subjected to deliberate, hostile, and discriminatory treatment. If this staff member dislikes her job, she should not be in hospitality. Her unprofessional, aggressive, and discriminatory behavior is unacceptable and deeply damaging to the hotel’s reputation.||||I want to make it clear that not all staff are like this. On weekends, the lady who serves us always makes us feel valued and respected. She is the reason I continued to come back. From now on, I will avoid visiting on the days the red-haired staff member is working.||||I have never written a negative review about any business before, but I cannot overlook the way my mother was treated tonight. To humiliate loyal customers, deny them water, and respond with hostility even when shown politeness is appalling. This type of conduct has no place in a hotel that claims to value...

We used to go to Kondari and eat at least 2 to 3 times a week. I wasn’t going to change my previous review as I have left a positive review in the past but our last few experiences has never seen us return for food since. Our last experience i was served very pink and raw barramundi. I asked if the chef could please come and have a Quick Look to make sure it was cooked as I knew it wasn’t and they apparently refused. (I never got to speak to the chef nor did the chef check, that we saw) we were a little confused why we were told the chef wouldn’t speak to us as it wasn’t busy. We then asked to speak to the manager on duty who was Paul. He came out very flustered and sweaty. After talking to him about what happened, he then went into the kitchen took a tiny piece of the raw barramundi from the bin (as I told them I didn’t want it so they binned it) to bring back out to us and argue that barramundi is normal to be pink apparently??? He was very rude and argumentative. I definitely did not expect the situation to be dealt with the way he handled it. Barramundi definitely should be white when it’s cooked properly. I felt very sick from eating the small amount I did and was very ill afterwards as the female staff member (Amy) heard whilst I was in the disabled toilets being sick. She was absolutely lovely and asked if I was ok afterwards. Thank you Amy As for the other (young) female waitress on that day (didn’t get her name) and the manager Paul, We all found their interaction very unprofessional and unpleasant.

All of our business now goes to the Boat Club, Bayswater Hotel and the Torquay Pub.

The last few months have seen you loose some very loyal patrons who spent a fare bit during our lunches and dinners as there’s normally anywhere from 5 to 20+ of us that dine together.

We are definitely not the only local people that won’t return for food.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay here, Having never been to Hervey Bay before we were unsure what to expect. We were very happily surprised at our first experience at the Kondari Hotel. Well we were more than happily surprised actually. From the first booking email they staff were willing to help out. It was our 3 years olds Birthday when we arrived so they had some pink balloons for her so make her day. once we got to our room they were perfect, Air Con on to greet us in a perfect condition room. Plenty of room as always required with 3 kids to make life that much easier. A view of the lake from our door step and couple metres walk to the edge to find plenty of turtles swimming around to all the kids and parents enjoyment. The Room suited us perfect the Beds were amazingly comfortable, Had a better sleep than at home! The pool was great, A very deep end for the old kids and then the shallow end for the younger kids and very well looked after. Then the On site Bristo, Had it for Dinner the first night then had to go back for lunch the next day it was that good! If you are going for Lunch 120% recommend giving the Chicken burger a try. Amazing. Overall nothing to fault about our time at Kondari Hotel happy with everything, Great Staff, Great Rooms, Great Location, Will be our hotel of choice when we return to the Hervey Bay and our recommendation to anyone going to Hervey Bay.

We booked here because we had been to the restaurant a few times in the past and because it is in a great location and has a swimming pool. We were told at check-in that they had provided extra towels because the shower was wheelchair accessible and the water was running out the bathroom door due to the bathroom floor and shower being completely flat. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all (see photos), the shower waterproofing had failed and water was leaking very heavily straight through the bathroom wall/floor onto the carpet in the main room. This issue was nothing to do with the shower being wheelchair accessible. We informed reception immediately and showed them photos. This caused the room to smell and we weren't offered to be moved to a different room or offered a reduced price. Whilst the swimming pool, restaurant and location are great features, unfortunately, I don't think we would stay again.

A hidden gem in the quiet streets of Harvey Bay. Sit back, relax and get in touch with nature. Staying here for a few nights in their new refurbished rooms was a treat. Their Lakeside room was equipped with a small kitchenette - mini fridge, toaster, kettle and stocked tea and coffee. Generous sized room fitted with a Queen and Single bed with views of their calm lake. Interact with feathered friends or relax by the lake watching all of the tutles swim towards you. If you love to explore, take a stroll to the Esplanade, Urangan Pier, Woolworths and local shops or stay at the hotel and enjoy meeting the locals at their pub. Wonderdul service from all of their staff and a BIG shout out to Little T. She provided an exceptional and genuine customer service every evening we walked into the bar. Thank you Kondari Team and we look forward to returning again x
