Located just across the road from the Urangan Pier is the Bayswater Bar and Grill. The is a great venue for a meal during the day as you can see right out across the ocean here all the way to Fraser Island. Bayswater Bar and Grill is a large venue with the option to sit inside, or my recommendation is to sit out on the verandah for the stunning ocean views. There is also a bar area where you can order drinks and snacks. There is a wide range of meal options on the menu including steaks, seafood, pizzas, pasta, burgers, salads and more. As is the norm in most bistro type settings, serving sizes are generous and more than enough for one person. I found the meal prices excellent value for money with most meals around the $20 mark. Drinks are also really good value with a glass of wine between $6 and $9. While there is no kids area or anything, families are made to feel welcome here at the casual dining venue. There is a great kids menu including all the usual suspects such as burgers, pizza, nuggets, pasta and calamari. All kids meals are $9.90 an include a serve of ice cream. Plus on Wednesday nights the kids eat free. I ordered the Beer Battered Barramundi, which was beautiful, but my husband's meal was really amazing. He had the Bayswater Signature Brisket which is a 24 hour low and slow cooked brisket with an amazing smoky BBQ bourbon glaze – OMG to die for! We also shared a really yummy passionfruit cheesecake with cream. Desserts are only $8.90 each, which is great value. If you want to have a few drinks, Bayswater Bar and Grill also have a courtesy bus for Friday and Saturday nights. Just give them a call to arrange pick up from your accommodation. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, they have live music from 5 pm and 1 pm Sundays.

Upon arrival we sat at a table outside with a lovely view of the pier and the bay and noticed a board with a good selection of lunch specials for $16.90.. shame it went mostly downhill from there.. went to the counter to order and asked if it was possible to have a Hawaiian parmi without ham.. I found Crystal the staff member rude and abrupt and she said she can request it but can’t guarantee it so ordered the flathead with chips and salad for my partner and I .. when it came to the table we asked if we could have some tomato sauce but the male staff member said you have to go to the counter to pay for it as he turned his head and was walking away.. again unfriendly.. I started to eat my meal and saw a spider on top of my salad so took it back to the lovely Crystal and said I don’t like spiders in my salad.. she just screwed up her face.. then I asked how much tomato sauce was and save said $3 ‘she thinks’ so I said not to bother.. never been charged for tomato sauce in a pub/club ever.. returned to the table and continued eating. I had requested no dressing on my salad but there was no dressing on my partners either.. obviously too hard.. chips were a bit overcooked but fish was crumbed and quite nice.. when I was about three quarters through my meal someone came out to ask if I had the salad with the spider and ask if I wanted a replacement.. I said not to worry since I had almost finished .. staff in general bringing food out and clearing tables did not seem happy to be there so was disappointing overall

I attended for the first time with my dog. I didn’t have a booking but I was just passing by. Renee informed me that I was able to sit by the pool bar seats to which I was happy with. She realised it was just myself with my dog as I just was hoping to have a drink. She offered to have someone come over to me for my drinks order so not to leave my dog alone. I was taken aback at how thoughtful that was. Renee then came over to let me know a seat on the deck had become available, and escorted us over even talking to my dog along the way. Same thing, she offered to bring someone over for drinks orders. I decided to try ordering inside (it was the first public dining experience with my dog). Jack later came over and offered to bring a bowl of water. I said to him how kind, he nonchalantly mentioned ‘we’ve got to look after the doggos’. These may seem like little things to some, but I was totally put at ease. I appreciated Renee coming past to check in. The diners next to us were also very lovely and mentioned they had had good service here. It’s possibly one of the best experiences I’ve had at any restaurant, let alone one catering for my dog. Renee and Jack went above and beyond, and I am most humbled by the whole thing. I know they are accommodating to dogs, but this was far beyond that, it was their personal touch and genuine interest that has me chuffed! Side note- the pizza was DELISH, and the drinks were very good value. I will definitely be back, I’ve found a gem! THANKYOU.

No doubt about the scenic location, pub situated right opposite the beach has a wonderful advantage. Had a steak the other night and it was cooked to order with great BBQ taste and perfect grill marks. Pizza specials of $12 between 2:30 and 4:30 are popular and have the place packed. I do advise to book a table in advance if you plan to visit. Here's where things get messy, they also have a Cocktail Happy Hour between 3.:00pm and 5:00pm with an extensive selection of popular cocktails on offer for $12. Sounds Great right?? Cocktails are well crafted and taste awesome. So now you ask where's the problem? Ok so you make your way to the main bar and place your order and give the server your table number and once you pay they bring it out to you. Awesome service No? It All sounds pretty straight forward and simple. But here's the twist!!! upon ordering first round of cocktails at 3:15pm the table received them 25 mins later at exactly 3:40. Upon taking my first sip I hastely made my way to the bar to order the next round as this took ages to arrive, so precisely ordered at 3:43pm and returned to the table enjoying the ambience the view and of course the company I was keeping. Enjoying our first cocktail and awaiting the next to arrive, it did eventually arrive 35 mins after ordering. Now I don't mind waiting for a good cocktail being made to order. I do understand it doesn't pour out of a tap or bottle, but to wait for 25 and 35 mins respectfully, I did have my doubts as to IS This A SCAM, in the sense Yeah it's a 2 hour happy hour but you will only get the pleasure of 2 drinks in that time as we will serve you at the lowest speed I've ever seen at a bar. I mean ever. So I took it upon myself to go see what was really happening behind the scenes. I stood around the bar and simply observed their process. Clearly I was so correct. They are so inaeficient, No doubt what so ever it is inaeficient by design, where they have 5 bartenders taking orders for various drinks and a great deal of cocktail orders and they pass it and funnel it down to one poor staff member mixing and shaking cocktails. That's right one person to make many many cocktails that had their orders taken by 5 staff members who were trying to look busy when they weren't, yet one person left to fulfill all these cocktail orders that were piled up. I could excuse this if it was a once off, but sadly it was the same the previous week. This could be easily fixed by having one extra staff member mixing and shake cocktails rather than have them trip over each other as to who is going to take the order of the next customer and have their order bank up if it's for the cocktails. I wasn't the only table disgruntled by their designed ineficiency, as the tables around me were making the same remarks we were. Simply don't do happy hour if you don't want your patrons taking advantage of your promotion. LIFT your game Management of Bayswater Hotel because you have a location and opportunity to be getting 5stars every time but inexcusable to be waiting over half an hour for a drink. Tell me if...

Review + Updates + last post… We’ve been coming here for a few years now, the staff are great and you have a view to die for, BUT the worst thing you have done is made it DOG FRIENDLY! dog friendly without ANY rules! i’m fed up with yappy dogs! if i want to listen to dogs bark i’ll go to a dog park! I’ve seen owners feeding their dogs off plates! one owner picked up her dog and allowed it to eat leftover pizza off their plates and it flung pizza everywhere, we were at the next table and had to put up with it! I’ve seen dogs left unattended and patrons had to get up and restrain them and they were very large dogs. If you insist on allowing dogs then you HAVE TO put rules in place, try under the sign that says “Dog Friendly” oh! i’ve also seen people trip over dogs that are allowed to lay in walk ways on a very long leash! PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! you have awesome staff that should be allowed to enforce rules that are ignored…..There are Government rules in place for owners to follow and they are being ignored, probably because you don’t have these rule up for owners to read!

Update; After going to the Bayswater today it was nice to see dog rules printed out and placed on tables in the dog friendly area and staff doing a great job

Update: Reserved tables outside is the dumbest thing that could possibly be done….i have seen so many people walk out because of it, these tables have sat empty for 3 hours because of these revere signs…the Boat club is starting to look pretty good!

Update 25 October 2024 As happy as i was to see rules printed out and put on the tables in the dog friendly area i am very frustrated to see people ignoring these rules 😡 Once again people at a table had 2 dogs which were annoyingly barking, then the 2 dogs decided to fight as well! And what do the owners do? while one took his dog for a short walk (which did nothing at all) the woman decided to reward her dog by feeding it food from her plate! Like i’ve already said…IF I WANT TO LISTEN TO BARKING DOGS I’LL GO TO A DAMN DOG PARK! It’s about time the Bayswater got a manager that was there for the customers and NOT just dog people! We go to the pub to relax and chill out….who the hell can relax and chill out with barking and fighting dogs????

After enjoying The Bayswater for the last few years we just can’t handle the barking and fighting dogs anymore…we arrived to 4 reserved tables that we left with no shows…at least 5 couples and families walked out…this pub has become very stressful and not enjoyable at all… my advice? Sack management and get someone that knows what they are doing…there are a few staff members Kev and...

Was just terrible today, Mothers Day breakfast, our daughter had come from Brisbane to spend the day with her Mum and the first thing we did, was go to your Mothers Day Buffet. We thought this would be a pretty special breakfast at close to $40 per head. The hot food was cold, ie bacon/sausages under cooked, clumps of cold steamed rubbish. The eggs were basically raw or overcooked and tasted horrible. The bread was dry and not even a toaster available to make it edible. We left most of that, on the plate and then tried some cold, rubberised pancakes. Even the fruit was not ripe, pastries and muffins tasted like Woolworths day old leftovers that had been left out in the sun. We thought we would at least get a decent coffee but instead got confronted with Nescafe Packets and an Empty Urn. We also noticed other people complaining at their tables and at Reception, as they were leaving. We spoke to reception desk on the way out as well and said it was horrendous and felt like the shrug of the shoulders was the best we would get and left. As locals, there is no way in hell will we be back again after this and no way in hell could we recommend it. Thanks for starting a special day of so miserably, hopefully we don't end up on the crapper for the rest of the day......

{The Bayswater Bar and Grill (owner) 3 weeks ago We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience on such a special day. Your feedback is invaluable and will be shared with the team to ensure improvements. We appreciate your honesty and hope to regain your trust in the future. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. }

Yeah, not really an adequate response to a total waste of $120 at your venue and then going elsewhere to eat. Absolute Shocker of a place, for any special occasion, and as for gaining our trust again,...
