RAD Rolled Ice Cream — Restaurant in Urangan

I was so excited to visit this spot during our trip to Hervey Bay! 🌴I’d never tried rolled ice cream before, and this place looked amazing online. They’ve got over 500K followers on TikTok and go live for every shift! 👀

The shop itself is super cute, think bright purples, rainbow details, and a fun, cheerful theme 💜✨ Visually, it’s such a vibe.

The ice cream? YUM! 🍨 I got the classic pot which was $10, good filling portion and full of flavour. Definitely good value for the price 💰👌

However... the customer service was a bit of a letdown 😕 🥹We weren’t greeted when we entered, and the staff just seemed very disengaged. Not rude, just quiet and low energy, which felt a little awkward, especially because I came in genuinely excited 🫣

Later I realised their TikTok Lives are pretty quiet too, mostly just them rolling ice cream without much interaction. So I guess that’s just their vibe 🤷‍♀️ But it’s a strange contrast to the super colourful, upbeat decor. You know when the vibe doesn’t match the vibe? 😅

I always like to give places a second chance and maybe this was just an off day... but Hervey Bay isn’t exactly around the corner for me, so it might be a while before I’m back

📌 Tip: Be aware they film/live stream most shifts. The camera isn’t pointed at customers but down at the rolling so you should not be seen. But it is good to keep in mind! 🎥

Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had!

We’d seen this place on TikTok Live a few times, so when we were in Hervey Bay we decided to order through Uber Eats. The restaurant happened to be live at the time, so we were able to watch our order being made in real time — from start to finish, right up to it being packed and handed to the driver. It really added to the experience!

When it arrived, the first bite was incredible. I had the chocolate with M&Ms and it was absolutely delicious — genuinely one of the best ice creams I’ve ever tasted.

I’d highly recommend stopping by if you’re visiting Hervey Bay. I’ll definitely be ordering again next time I’m in town.

I can’t recommend this place enough I had seen one of their tik toks a year ago on our family trip away and we knew when we came back this year we were definitely going. The service was above and beyond everyone was so lovely and polite the young man especially was incredibly polite even looked you in the eyes when talking. The fact they even had a step for kids to be able to watch the process was even better I’ve never seen my niece and nephew so happy and intrigued. Was worth the wait i would give more...
