We’ve tried this bakery twice and did not have a good experience on both occasions.

The first visit we were given the wrong coffee order. We ordered cappuccinos and instead they brought to our table black coffee with almond milk.

It’s a small local establishment so we decided to drink them anyway knowing that once sipped nobody else would want them. And what a waste to toss the drinks! As we watched them come to the realization they delivered the wrong drinks they didn’t acknowledge their mistake. They didn’t apologize for their mistake. They actually just went about their business in a way that clearly said, “those people have no any idea they’re not drinking cappuccinos. What schmucks!” They acknowledged their mistake to the table whose coffee were mistakenly given to us. But no apology to us.

The second visit we arrived just in time to see the barista scratching the inside of her nostril with one hand while foaming milk with the other. The horror on my face was clearly caught by the said barista because she made the WORST “cappuccino” we have ever had. Maybe on purpose. Maybe not. Either way
they were terrible. Delivered in a coffee mug.

Additionally, I ordered a croquet monsieur and they attempted to serve it cold. Who eats a croquet monsieur COLD?!? They did warm it after my request but..why wouldn’t heating be standard? Such a weird vibe in this bakery. Lots of other bakeries to...

Authentic French recipes yield heavenly delights. Doors are kept closed and fans or air-cons are not used inside. This is to create a warm environment to help with proving doughs and to avoid flour blowing everywhere. Light flaky melt in your mouth buttery croissants are a hit with a nice cup of coffee! Timing is essential as baking continues into the morning. As a result, not all products are displayed at time of opening. Arrive too late however & you risk missing out. Think brunch not lunch! Staff are welcoming with relaxed seating available outside. Bakery is closed Monday & Tuesday & usually over school holidays. Saturday mornings are popular with locals & the cycling community. Bring your patience with you during busy periods. If time is of the essence & you prefer rapid service, this place is not for you. However if you prefer long chats over coffee, this is a lovely spot for a lazy Sunday brunch. Great place to stop by after your morning walking with Fido. Worth the...

I'm french I've been living in Australia 10 years and this is by far the best croissants, pain au chocolat and baguettes I've ever had on this continent. Honestly I had tears in my eyes, tears of joy, tears of sweet childhood memory that brings me back to the french country side when my mum would take me to the bakery after school. And before you ask, no they are not overpriced, you want an artisan product made with love, with care and passion or do you want so goop made by a machine in a factory. Theses are straight from french heaven, the flakes are light, the layers are crispy and buttery, they are airy and melt in your mouth. Definitely worth the trip if you are after a bit of french finesse for your breakfast or if ou want to surprise your loved ones in the morning with armful of pastries and bread like we do in france and bring that buttered joy that will...

Amazing gem of a place, 3 minute walk from the ticket counter at Freshwater railway station, across the road. Amazing fresh pastries, espresso drinks. Nice little seating area outside with a view of mountains and sugarcane field. Perfect spot for a bite before or after a tour. Also has baguette sandwiches. Only point to note is the awning and umbrellas say ‘Genovese’ and the name of the restaurant is not visible from the road. We just followed our noses. Excellent service also.

When we walked in we were underwhelmed with what we first saw. But on closer inspection there was a big variety of pastries. And we got about 10 different items all were absolutely delicious. I wish we lived closer as this would bey local place to purchase breads and pastry for sure!! Apple pie was my favourite!!

Finally found amazing croissants in Cairns. Much better than the other places we've been to. The layers are well built and the overall flavour balance is fantastic. They use a more bitter, dark chocolate in the pan au choclat and it's so divine.
