This is one in regards to Otto's hen Haus only as Im visiting from Bris and can't comment on the other facilities in the complex. Basically it's a really average chicken shop.
The charcoaloes chicken - Does not exist as far as I could tell. They do have rotisserie chicken as an alternative, however they looked a bit sad and you'd probably get a better chook from Cole's.
The fried chicken - Super ordinary. You shouldn't be able to advertise that you sell fried chicken when you don't do any bone-in chicken. They only do fried chicken tenders which they use across their whole fried chicken menu, the burgers and the chicken packs all use the same chicken pieces. I ordered the lava burger which consisted of 3 tenders. Was super painful to eat as the separate pieces kept falling out of the burger. While the tenders were cooked well, again they were super ordinary and not particularly flavorful.
Chips - The chip were super tasty!!! Cooked really well with a great seasoning. Pretty sure the chips are the only reason I'm not giving it 1 star.
Salads - Really wanted to order a side salad with my meal deal but a) they didn't look fresh even though it was only 12pm and b) literally the most expensive side salads I've seen in a long time. $7 for essentially a cup of salad!!!!
Service - service in the chicken shop was very prompt and the orders came out really quickly. Unfortunately the yelling out customers orders when they're ready is just beyond ridiculous when you have such a large, elongated seating area. I don't understand why this type of business has yet to adopt a buzzer system for customers who are eating in.
Overall it was ok for a casual Sat lunch... However considering the terrible parking situation, the order system and the lack of real fried chicken im not likely to return or recommend the place to...
Read moreI ordered catering goods back in February and I would like to give feedback.
Your online ordering system is fabulous, easy to follow with pretty pictures of your goods, I ordered online with ease.
I received a call on Sunday 13th Feb from a staff member telling me my goods won’t be ready today, which was super concerning as it clearly states I wanted them for 13th March. Your staff member said "that’s good its not today because I don’t have anything for you". Not a good start in consumer confidence. We also discussed delivery of these goods and she told me that was perfectly fine and I gave her the address for delivery. Because of this strange call, I was then sensitive to the fact that things could be going wrong in your catering process.
Fast forward to Friday 11th March, I rang to confirm catering and delivery only to find that you don’t deliver on weekends and that I would have to collect from the Warrina Store, I specifically chose Precinct as it is the closer venue for your services to deliver. I then had to arrange collection before the event and trust everything was there.
We ordered the list below and all goods were absolutely gorgeous, however I do want to mention the lack information included in your charcuterie platters and cheese platters. I ordered both in the large size, $250 and $200.
Not mentioning what is included in these platters is not only vague it also leads to lack of consumer confidence which was already on edge due to previous phone calls. When I served the platters I was left wondering where $450 was in value. I have attached an image of the cheese platter we received and captured...
Read moreI went to the café and asked about gluten free (GF) options, fully aware that they can’t guarantee against slight cross-contamination. The lady at the counter advised the chicken was coated in flour and that they use a lot of gluten products. I asked if they could simply grill some chicken, and she said “No, I am not allowed to ask the kitchen for any requests.”
When I went inside, I saw a couple of possible options, like green curry with rice. I asked another staff member if the kitchen could heat it up so I had something to eat, but again the answer was “No, sorry.”
I then found a cheese and salami platter with a dip and asked if they could tell me the ingredients in the dip. I was told they didn’t know and weren’t allowed to open it—even though Australian food safety laws require that ingredients be listed and accessible.
I eventually went to the fish and chip shop next door, where I was also meet with no help and was advised she couldn’t cook me a grilled fish with out flour on it. In my 30 years of living with coeliac disease, I have never received such poor assistance from a business.
This is not the fault of the staff, who were polite and doing as instructed—I could see they were uncomfortable with the situation. But the policies in place left me completely disappointed and excluded. I will not return, nor will I bring my family or friends here. I’ll also be moving our work food...
