Parkview Hotel — Restaurant in Queensland

I went to this place for the first (and definitely LAST) time today. The 3 of us went there for a work lunch together. I have ordered a Pizza, worth $27!!😳 I thought it must be good then and what can go wrong? I have asked for tomato sauce on the side which was about 1 tablespoon and got charged an extra $1. SERIOUSLY? Well, well……..let’s start with the cardboard base without taste, topped with toppings you couldn’t see as the whole ‘Pizza’ or whatever this thing was, was covered in a thick and overly generous layer of Mozzarella. Do you like oil, grease and a heart attack? You’re at the right place!! 🤮 I took a bite (the tip of one triangle) and as I was chewing, the mozzarella shaped into a bouncy ball, forming a huge rubber ball in my mouth that was impossible to swallow…so I had to spit it out. I thought ok, just go for the toppings then as I was very hungry. What a stupid idea as all the toppings have meanwhile been concreted into the rubber mat (mozzarella) which has reached room temperature. Sometimes less (cheese) is more…. I started dissecting this thing in the hope that I could find a mushroom or pineapple that was NOT glued into the cheese…..bad luck as I only found 4 more pieces that were edible.😫 My friend had ordered a Banh mi that was served with chips but no tomato sauce came with it! However, I took this totally messed up pile of cheese on cardboard to the counter to ask if we could kindly meet at half price as a refund. I had literally 2 bites! of a 30cm, the ‘head chef’ called a pizza. The girl took it out the back to chat to the ‘head chef’ who doesn’t know how to cook. Well, at least neither ‘pizza’ nor Banh mi as my Asian friend found out!!! I have worked in the food industry/ kitchen as a cook myself for many years and I dare say that this was the most disgusting 🤢 pile of blob/ goop I ever got served!!! Anyway, the girl came back out from her chat in the kitchen with the pile of cheesy mess and told me that there was no problem with the pizza according to the cook in the kitchen. Unfortunately they can’t even give me a partial refund as I had asked generously (not a full refund) as I had eaten the pizza to their understanding 😲😳🤯 How would I know if I hadn’t TRIED 2 bites??? They offered me a drink which I had to reject due to my lunch break having ended. Besides that, we have asked for drinks without ice and guess what? Our glasses were half full of ice cubes… This is the most disgraceful, greedy and appalling customer service I know of!!! MINUS 10⭐️😡😡😡 …and to the ‘chef’ ……back to school or stick to the dishes you have properly...

I don't usually leave reviews, especially bad ones. I use to like coming to parkview for dinner but last night was disappointing. I feel like the management has gone down hill. When a table orders food every meal for that table should come out all together. Every cafe,restaurant and pub should know this. It's a known fact. Last night one lady from my table got hers then by the time ours came out she was done hers. I noticed that this was an issue for alot of people last night. I understand if it's a busy night but it's not acceptable. We should of got an apology for the delay which we didn't. One of the lady's at my table had the fish and it was completely dry. She never leaves food on her plate but she did last night and that's saying something. Another lady at my table ordered the calamari and she couldn't eat it because it was way to oily, no one should be putting that much oil in their body. Have been going there since the refurb. The food is great and the service was good, even through Covid. But went there last night and felt like i was at McDonalds. The staff were all young girls who didn't appear to know what they were doing and chewing on gum. I thought Covid was still a concern, there was nobody checking to see that we checked in or either to let us know where we could sit. But, the food was great.

I still go to the Parkview and I have seen some changes. The staff have improved. They are very professional. There was a mix up with the order. I told the staff about this and it was sorted out straight away. Greatly impressed with the changes and I thank the staff for their help. The food is still...
