Had dinner there recently on Japanese theme night really enjoyed the night and the company.
Service was good and the atmosphere was great.
Food was a bit hit and miss though.
The agedashi was terrific, probably the best Iāve had in the coast.
And my salmon poke bowl was good too flavours were great and serving if not generous, was at least adequate. I would have liked some more greens to cut through all the carbs though, but there was nothing wrong with the flavour though, which was spot on.
My wifeās teriyaki chicken was less fortunate though, as the chicken tasted poached (not fried), and there was no crispy finish to the chicken, and no seasoning, just a generous portion of chicken which tasted a little on the firm side, with what tasted like some soy sauce splashed on top. I mean it wasnāt terrible but there wasnāt a lot to recommend it, and Iām not sure where the teriyaki component bead supposed to come in, as I couldnāt taste it at all.
Otter reports from the table were a mixed bunch, some really loved their food, and otters did not.
General consensus though was that all the vegetation options were spectacular.
We were a large table though, so not easy to cater for.
Iād love to back on another night when itās just the two of us, as Iām sure it would be a different experience.
Overall Iād say the food is a 4, but add in service and atmosphere and Iād rate my experience a...

From the beautiful little alleyway with splashes of vibrant art on the wall to the fresh greenery and sense of calm, Pomona Village Kitchen was very inviting. The staff were more than friendly and happy to help any way they could. The atmosphere was enjoyable, not too busy for a Tuesday lunch but i am sure they do get pretty busy.
I could not fault the atmosphere, the service or the taste of the food however I found the bruch/ lunch menu to be somewhat limited but by no means did that affect our visit. We had the Nachos (main dish) which tasted amazing!! , sweet potato chips (side dish), potato chip (side dish), calamari ( side dish), orange juice, ginger beer and 1 Jim beam/ coke which cost rough $80.
If we came back through town we would definitely stop in again. It's nice to support...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStopped off for a quick breakfast and was a bit disappointed. Service was friendly and the cafe was clean, but food was very slow to come out when cafe was only about 30%full. The juices are out of a bottle, not made fresh in house. When the food arrived it was really disappointing for the price. Smashed avo: 'toast' wasn't toasted, had about 1/2 an avocado, dressings and bits scattered all over the place but no seasoning on the actual smashed avocado. Shakshuka was borderline inedible. Completely cold, tomato sauce was undercooked and really just chopped up raw tomato, poached egg was cold, cost extra for 'toast' (again untoasted) cost extra for about a tablespoon of goats cheese. Again, there were sauces and bits scattered all over the plate, but the main shakshuka tasted of nothing and was really basic. The general vibe of the cafe is really nice, shame about the menu. Would...
