Riverview Tavern — Restaurant in Queensland

After a long hour and a half minute wait, and an excuse of "it's busy" the meal was very disappointing. It would of gone back except we were sooo hungry. No indication of an extended wait either when we ordered. my risotto had lumps of stuck together rice and no sauce in those lumps. The cut of meat I ordered was supposed to be rump, and on what planet is the attached picture a rump. The vegetables were cold and the potato that was not under the meat was cold. plates and cups took over half an hour to be collect and more often than not we were taking the up to the bar. There was maybe 50 people in here and it took them that long to deliver which is completely disgusting. Staff were no where to be found, didn't come and ask how our meals where which we would have told them how disgusted we were. Some chips were cold while others were slightly warm. many other people were also waiting and growing impatient. Staff did not come up and apologise for the delay for give us an estimated wait time, we had to go to them at the bar after an hour had well passed. At lease they were fast with the drinks. The renovations made the place look nice but the service has absolutely plummeted and I'm appalled that Lily White would think this is appropriate behaviour. I would never encourage friends or family to come here, other Lily White places were so much better than this location. The photos show how "busy" it's was. The atmosphere was good. Well it was ok, the company helps make it all seem better. The menu is okay for a pub, or tavern. One of the party I was with had a burger, it looked spectacular and they said it was. Others had pizza, also very good visually and tasted great. I however had the 1kg of Texas BBQ chicken wings, if it was actually 1kg I’d be shocked, it may not have been far off but wasn’t a full kilo. Also, these were cut-down wings, looking like very tiny legs, sure easier to eat, but man chicken wings are meant to be a messy finger licking amazingly tasty experience. They had little taste. Definitely not Texas BBQ flavour, and the dipping sauce which I think was meant it be Ranch, was not Ranch not Blue Cheese if that was what it was meant to be. The container the dipping sauce was in was just big enough to put a ‘wing’ straight in, but it’s a one dip thing and once you got the first few covered to get some taste, you were running out. So point is very little amount of sauce in a container not fit for the purpose of covering your wing if that’s what you wish to do. Look, we go to these places to be with friends, not for gastronomic delights. For that the Riverview hits the mark. If you go, order anything on the menu, but I’d rethink ordering the chicken wings, just do pizza, burger, or play it really safe...

Second time coming here after the reopen of the menu. I thought I’d give them benefit of the doubt and try coming back after receiving late & burnt grilled fish the first time. This time was worse - they forgot our meals until we prompted service and they had realised they hadn’t even put them through after we’d paid. This was an hour after being served. We ordered a coke to tie over time while we waited - the cup had chunks of old lemon and questionable amounts of dirt in it. We were not offered a refund for the coke. Initially staff offered to refund us and still put the meals out, but once one meal arrived they told us to wait 5 more minutes for the other meal. We asked about the refund again and they took our food from the table and said they could not provide both.
