Riverway Lagoons — Local services in Thuringowa Central

Most poorly planned facility ever. The 12 hot water outdoor showers are push button with no timer so many times the showers are turned on and left running by careless people. Three times over the past two days I have walked past with at least 6 of these showers pouring out hot water with no one in them. The amount of water and energy wasted due to these showers is ridiculous.

The lifeguards didn’t not show a care in the world about the patrons and half the time they are on their phone calling or texting people. Absolutely ridiculous waste of tax payers’ money and puts so many...

Beautifull place :) ! A bit noisy sometimes, but that's a part of the succes ^^ .

Btw, forgot my watch yesterday on the men shower, and come back today to enjoy. In case of (i was 100% someone stole it, even if inexpensive..), come back to the toilet block and ask to a guy, 1mn later he came back with my Timex, incredible 😃 ! I was soooo happy. Congratulation to the cleaning staff, bloks are clean, and they take care of your stuff, in case of your forgot something .. ^^

Don't know the name of this guy (look asian), he was very nice with me, wish to him the best...

The riverwalk lagoons is well worth a visit. If you feel like a swim in one of the three pools supplied by Townsville city council for your convenience. Unfortunately the cafe is closed due to Covid restrictions I would imagine. A beautifully uncovered and shade covered area to swim in. Life guards on duty also in April so go for a walk or a swim through the beautiful gardens surrounding the pools or go for the walk to the Mecca café. Wheel chair access....
