I first discovered Cavman BBQ Restaurant three years ago, and as someone who enjoys spicy food, I was absolutely impressed by the Extinction Wings — they were exceptional: bold, spicy, and full of flavor. However, in recent months, I have found myself disappointed. I've been craving those wings again, but unfortunately, the sauce seems to have changed significantly.
The flavor no longer resembles the original Extinction Wings I once enjoyed. In fact, the sauce is now noticeably mild and lacks the signature spiciness that made it so memorable. Despite ordering multiple times — and being assured by the cashier that a new batch is made daily — the outcome has been consistently underwhelming.
I shared my concerns with the cashier, who kindly offered to have the wings remade. I appreciated the gesture and was hopeful, but unfortunately, the result was the same. The sauce remained sweet and lacking in heat. When I expressed that it did not taste like the Extinction sauce I remembered, I was told that it was indeed the Extinction sauce.
I wanted to share this feedback in the hope that the original recipe could be reconsidered, as it was truly what set the...
Read moreNot really impressed with the hygiene at this store. A bloke was making food with no gloves on, only time we wore gloves was to handle raw meat and put it into the deep fryer, otherwise the gloves were off, handling buns and salads and mac and cheese and cooked patties or chicken bits and all sorts of stuff with no gloves on,
meanwhilst in between making a burger hes pulling up his undies, taking his hat off and scratching his head, wiping his hands all over his sweaty T-shirt, and coughing into his hands and arms. Picking his ear, and then placing salad onto a burger immediately afterwards.
I'm sure this isnt normal, and if anybody tries to normalise this kind of stuff working in a kitchen you are the problem... people are paid to work to a standard in every industry, for example i am a mechanic. I'm paid to do a certain job, and do it to a standard, This kind of behaviour not wearing gloves handling food that pepple eat, would be like me doing half a service on a car and leaving the wheel nuts loose.
And i would be doing this knowing i havent done my job too a standard like i am paid to.
100% recommend Armadale store over this...
Read moreA year on from my last review and after multiple further visits to Cavemen BBQ in Rockingham, I thought it time to update my original review. Thankfully, in the intervening timeframe, the food here has stayed at the same level that I experienced my first time around, namely fantastic! I have gone through the menu from the Philly Cheesesteak Style Brisket Sammich, Lone Hunter, Cave Man and Chief through to the Maple Bacon burger. These have all been excellent choices, however there can be only one! My go-to burger is now the Carnivorgy (Dry aged beef smash patty and southern fried buttermilk chicken thigh with maple bacon, cheese sauce, grilled onions and ranch dressing). This burger is absolutely amazing, incredibly filling and now my personal favourite. My Partner enjoys the chicken thigh tenders coupled with the Mac and Cheese side whilst we also share some dusted fries between us. The service has always been excellent (and still is) and the staff friendly. This is still my favourite burger place and I take every opportunity to eat there I can. I cannot recommend this place...
