If you are tempted to attend this Maccas through the night, your better off driving the 20 minutes to Lakelands or even Byford as we had to last night. The manager on duty is rude and disrespectful, there isn't any wonder he is placed on night shift, he doesn't possess the people or customer service skills needed for day work. After requesting fresh cooked (my friend is pregnant) and being asked to wait the food came stone cold and inedible, upon returning to the drive through window were informed that they will not be replacing (maybe if he got it right in the first place he wouldn't have to replace), that we were wasting his time and thrown a refund with "here have your money" and the door slammed in her face. I called the store, as the treatment was unacceptable, after being hung up on three times, I finally spoke to the manger who served, and upon asking his name was told its none of your business. We had googled the bad reviews already here, seen him mentioned a number of times and I decided, I'll call him Craig (good method of deduction as when my partner attended this morning to make a formal complaint it was indeed Craig). Craig told me, that it was not his job to panda to our requests and waste his time providing a service when he has a shop to clean, I couldn't help but remind him that actually it is his job working in customer service to serve the customer, he asked me my job, stating am I the food police. He was arrogant, rude and never in my life have I had someone speak in the way he did last night. We have made a formal complaint to the manager today, and to head office.
Dear Craig, I understand that you aren't happy in your role, and that maybe customer service isn't the best business for you to work in. Respect goes a long way, and treating people like they are beneath you isn't a great start for your career in the McDonalds chain. There are a multitude of reasons a person requests fresh food, and it's not to be an inconvenience to you. If you did your job in the first place you wouldn't have wasted your own time. Some might put it down to you having a bad day, but going by the reviews your bad days are regular. It's not hard to smile and say have a nice day. In other news McDonalds Byford was amazing after hearing the trouble went above and beyond with fresh food and service, and this morning my coffee at Lakelands McDonalds was hot and...
Read moreI rode my Honda jazz all the way to this location from way up north in search of a fine meal. I was famished, and I knew that if I didn't eat something soon, I'd be forced to eat one of those disgusting things they call "snacks." My stomach grumbled as I pulled into the parking lot of a restaurant called McDonald's. It looked like it had been around for ages—it certainly hadn't changed since I last visited here. The place was packed with people, but there were still plenty of empty tables available. As I walked inside, I noticed how clean everything seemed. This wasn't surprising, given the fact that the whole place smelled like disinfectant.
"Welcome! How can we help you today?" asked an employee who greeted me at the counter.
"I want a Big Mac Meal," I said.
The employee nodded and handed over a menu card. "Would you like fries with that?" he asked.
"No thanks," I replied.
He gave me a funny look before handing me my order. He then pointed out the nearest table where I could sit down and wait for my food to arrive. After paying him, I sat myself down on one of the chairs. The place was really busy, so I figured I should have my meal as quickly as possible. A few minutes later, the employee brought my order to me. I took the tray from his hands and carried it over to my table. When I placed it down, I saw that it was quite heavy. But I couldn't complain too much because I got two Big Mac meals instead of just one. That meant double the meat patties and double the cheese.
As I began eating, I realized that I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. I felt full and satisfied after finishing off half of each burger. I left the rest of my food uneaten so that I wouldn't feel guilty about wasting food. And while I waited for my car to cool down, I decided to take a quick nap. I fell asleep almost...
Read moreI had a really disappointing and concerning experience at Mecca Rockingham during a DoorDash pickup around 11 PM on a rainy Tuesday night. The weather was terrible, and unfortunately, this location has no proper sheltered area for delivery drivers — just a small night window that is fully exposed to the outside environment.
Because of the rain, I went to the drive-thru and politely asked the manager if I could collect my DoorDash order from there. I explained the weather situation, but he refused and insisted I follow their usual protocol, showing no flexibility or empathy. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially given the conditions.
Worse, this area doesn’t feel safe at night. There were a few intoxicated or suspicious individuals hanging around the pickup spot, and some of them were behaving aggressively or speaking rudely. As a delivery driver, I genuinely felt unsafe. If someone were to harm us — whether by violence or harassment — who would be responsible?
There absolutely needs to be a secure, enclosed, and sheltered space for drivers to wait and collect orders at night. Exposing us to the weather and to unsafe surroundings is not acceptable.
I really hope Mecca Rockingham management takes this seriously and rethinks how they accommodate delivery drivers — especially late at night in...
