First things first service was lovely,
Alright this makes me sad to give 3 stars for the food. This place use to be amazing, the food was great the sizes were on par with pricing Now itâs gone downhill The food wasnât great the Parma was overcooked near burnt, same as the fish and chips the garlic bread with cheese so small for the price and not great hardly cooked, no idea how that happens. I didnât eat all day expecting the meals to be the same as last time massive and delicious I was so hungry when the food came out I thought Nup donât complain just eat it if I wasnât so hungry I would have left the meal honestly. Also how slow it was to get the meals out was a joke We were there at 5.25 first people there we didnât get our food till 6.20 we ordered within 10 mins of sitting down too and were the only people there until 6 so no excuse at all for the time frame. I wouldnât return which makes me annoyed because I loved this place with the previous owners.
Reply ; unfortunately when the staff member came to check on our meals it was In passing and did not wait for a reply as I said it was still edible but not cooked to my liking or to a few others instead of replying and saying that something could be fixed on the spot the food just needs to be up to par for the price Youâre asking simple as that Iâm not returning anyway and I wouldnât recommend this restaurant Any more, much nicer places around. And after reading a few of your other reviews it seems like mine is definitely not...
Read more"Australia Day" dinner at Soltan Pepper last night. We have been to this restaurant many times and are usually very content with the food and service. I,full of '80s reminiscence, opted for the "Australian Day" prawn cocktail for entree. It was disappointing. Six small prawns were cooked tempura but became soggy under the load of too much iceberg lettuce, chopped tomato (!) just piled up under the lettuce and too many sprouts to negotiate. Sparse aioli or similar - not thousand island dressing. Other parties, however, enjoyed their smoked salmon, trio of dips and burger slider. Mains included the S&P pork belly (reported as excellent but too much to eat) and two serves of the 'Straya Day parma which was a ENORMOUS pile of parmagiana, chips, salad etc topped with crispy fried egg that ultimately defeated both teenager diners. I elected to go with entree size stir fry seafood. Again very large serving for entree size. Unfortunately a bit overcooked and too much soya sauce that overwhelmed the good quality seafood. Blanc de blanc bubbly suited occasion. Service prompt but lacking in confidence and focus on the dining experience. Overall, atmosphere good, food mostly up to previous standards. Servings large - go entree size if you want to sample the...
Read moreTravelled through Romsey on Friday and stumbled across this gem. Beautiful little shop with a nice fish pond out the front. My 2 year old daughter fell in love with the fish. The staff even gave her some fish food while we waited for our meals.
For someone with dietary requirements this place is amazing. Almost every meal on the menu had a gluten free option and the staff clearly knew about allergens. I ordered the chicken breast, my wife got the spsp and my daughter got the kids pasta. Some of the best food you will find and massive serving sizes. We considered dining in but they were not yet ready with covid restrictions. They also offer cocktails and heaps of desserts, including some gluten free.
Highly recommend this place. Will be going back again next time I am in the area. Thanks guys and all the best with...
