I found under my salad a pile of aggregated brown non edible unidentified matter (moldy leaves, soil, excrement?). I brought it to the counter to give them feedback so they know and it won’t happen to someone else. They took it to the kitchen and came back saying they clean their salad very carefully every morning. So what does that actually mean? There was no apologies, no empathy nor concern about my health. I was told my meal won’t be refund but I didn’t ask for it. But because they implied I was lying, I said I think they should at least refund partially my meal. Any good hospitality venue would have deeply apologised given a voucher or a refund without blinking. Another person came called Emily (manager ?), same aggressive and defensive behaviour, she offered a $1.50 single serve tomato sauce as a compensation, what a joke. I asked “what am I going to do with the sauce? I finished my meal”. She said I could have it for dinner. I asked to get the plate back so I could take a photo as an evidence but they refused and took it to the kitchen. I said that I was going to write the incident on Google review and Emily came back with the plate (see photo attached). I was offered a refund for the salad for $6.50 when I mentioned the review. I ordered a grilled pack for $24, it is expensive but I was happy to pay for a good meal with friends and a good experience, but it wasn’t the case. The order was #58 on 7th July at 1.34pm. Because they implied that I placed the unidentified brown matter on the plate myself multiple times, I called the mother of my friend I was having lunch with to testify. Emily apologised when she saw her, Emily or the other staff didn’t apologised to me at any point of the conversation. All she did was denying I found something suspicious in the food. Why would I do that? Shocking. The worst hospitality customer experience and service I’ve had in my life. I hope they sent a sample to a lab. And yes the chips are strangely very yellow... Edit: as mentioned in the first sentence, I found the brown matter under my salad so yes it was found at the end of my meal. I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell the business I found this because my friend was in a rush with a doctor appointment but she convinced me to give feedback so the business is aware and it won't happen again. I didn't know I would be treated...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at the San Remo Fishermans Co-Op during my holiday on Phillip Island, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the charming coastal ambiance. The restaurant's casual and friendly atmosphere made it the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch. The staff were welcoming and helpful, making our visit even more enjoyable. The highlight of our visit was, of course, the fish and chips. The menu offered a selection of fish, and I was informed that the type of fish available might change periodically based on availability. We decided to take the staff's recommendation and tried the gummy flake. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The serving size was generous, and we ordered a small portion of fries, which was more than enough for two people. The freshness of the fish was evident from the first bite. The batter was perfectly crispy without being overly heavy, allowing the natural flavor of the fish to shine through. It was beautifully complemented by their homemade tartar sauce, which had a nice tangy kick. I should also mention that in addition to the fantastic fish and chips, the restaurant offers a variety of other seafood dishes. From seafood platters to prawn cocktails, there's something for everyone, whether you're a seafood enthusiast or just looking for a casual meal. All in all, the San Remo Fishermans Co-Op left a lasting impression, and I can't wait to return on my next visit to Phillip Island. The combination of fresh, well-prepared seafood, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot for anyone in the area. If you're a seafood lover like me, this place is a hidden gem you won't...
Read moreBeen there a few times now. Food is good, seagulls are a problem. They dive in to snatch your chips outside the place. Today, Sunday 1/7/2018, I brought a friend to try the veggie burgers and chips and were surprised at the changes. I ordered the veggie burgers with chips and 4 potato cakes and found the tray of chips smaller, half filled with a handful of chips and the potato cake were in a bag in the same tray. Last time we came here, the tray was larger, full of chips but not topped up, 4 potato cakes were in a small bag but separated (not in the tray with the chips). I have been in this place for the last 3 years each time I drive to SanRemo for visit and never had a problem with the same food I ordered. But this day something changed that i don't understand, a smaller tray filled with half chips, the 4 potato cakes were smaller, thinner in a bag and placed in the smaller tray where it should have been chips. Prices have gone up, from $23 + three weeks ago to $26.80 this Sunday. And the veggie burgers now seem to be smaller (like a Big Mac burger, and taste somewhat salty or bitter. All the burgers I've had in the past were incredibly delicious. If I am to travel this far from Melbourne to get ripped off on downsized serves of food that I had known to be reasonably priced (though some other foods like scallops, etc., costs an arm) I think I'll eat elsewhere. Its not worth travelling this far and be ripped off further when the cost of fuel ($1.69 per litre) is already burning a hole in my wallet. These country shops and restaurants think we are made of gold that they charge more on foods. A cup of coffee, what do you think would cost? You'd be lucky if you can get a mug of coffee of $3.50. Try...
