I never write bad reviews but this was sadly not really enjoyable. I had high hopes and I had been here over the years but it's really gone down hill. They used to sell drinks in bowls which was a great novelty, now it's just a really large mug. The coffee was mediocre. The big breakfast my husband got was good but I ordered the chicken burger since other reviews said it was one of the only good things and it was terrible. The chicken was fake and greasy - not a schnitzel at all. The chips that came with it were barely cooked, pale and not crispy. The only good part was the burger bread. The tomato was under ripe and the lettuce was leafy greens not the type you put in a burger. It felt like a bad pub, meal not worth $20+. It's clearly gotten worse over the years. Also we tried to go yesterday and they were closed at 11.30 and I scoured the internet for notices saying it was closed and there was nothing, not even a sign out front,...

This place was very busy when we arrived. We were able to get seating inside or outside.

The staff were very friendly and greeted us in and showed us the specials. You order at the counter. They will bring you cutlery with your meal.

They make their own fudge, which is nice. I had high hopes for this place but the food and coffee was very average. Poached eggs overdone. Bread not buttered. Mushrooms dry and overcooked. No seasoning on anything. Also there was a random clump of what seemed to be tomato paste at the bottom of the bacon. I will say the portion size of the bacon was generous though. Sausage seemed to be cheap thin and store bought. The hashbrowns were good and crispy. The coffee tasted bitter and burnt. The hazelnut syrup they use is barely noticeable. The milk was creamy and good consistency though.

All and all a pretty...

The food was extremely disappointing. It would possibly be disrespectful to fish and chip shops to compare the chips received at BEANd to theirs. The kids beef burger was too tough to eat and didn’t come with chips. We were then charged for a side of chips when clarifying. The avocado served was brown and needed to be eaten days ago. There was also no available highchair - there were only two, so we had to take turns eating so the toddler could reach the table to eat. After expressing our dissatisfaction with our meals, the owner mentioned that he had received a lot of feedback around the toughness of the kids beef burger and just provided us with an excuse from the supplier. All the was offered was a few drinks ‘on the house’. It would have to be the most horrifying $75 I’ve ever spent on food (2x breakfast dishes + 2x...

Arrived around 1.40 on a Friday to find they were only offering outdoor dining (they'd cleaned the tables inside). It was freezing and breezy outside. We were not greeted warmly by the lady behind the counter and felt like an inconvenience from the start. There were around ten customers in the 30 mins we were there, many who decided to get takeaway or just leave because the environment was not welcoming. I had an overpriced and really not tasty GF haloumi burger which was dumped in front of me by a disgruntled waitress. With GF charge added my burger seemed to be around $18 and contained what tasted like cheap pesto, a small piece of haloumi, a soggy mushroom and some spinach. My friend's corn fritters looked much nicer. The man working seemed much nicer and went out of his way to help the ladies on the next table.

Terrible experience and waste of money, I ordered fish and chips and has thick batter and drenched with oil. McDonalds Chicken and cheese burger 10 times better than their chicken burger. I asked if burger can be cut in half as my partners appetite was killed with the look of fish and chips, waitress said she couldn't do as kitchen is busy. I looked for hand sanitizer as bathroom did not have soap. They had sanitizer but barista said this is not for customers. Really....you guys can do some other business that perhaps you could be good at? Just adding my receipt photo, so wouldn't claim that my review is not authentic. Hygiene is not a priority, water was given in old dented aluminum glass which smelled like oil, possibly wiped with dirty tea towel.
