This was my first visit to this cafe. Ordered the Spanakopita Pie for $26. Was looking forward to a lovely slice of pie full of cheese and spinach. What I received was a small Greek twist that you can pick up for $3 from Drakes supermarket. Can not call this a pie. Was mostly filo pastry and not the cheesy spinach pie I was expecting. The filling was tasty but for $26 was very overpriced. The picture makes it appear bigger than it was, but then the cherry tomatoes look big as well. My travel companion ordered the $29 salt and pepper squid. Unfortunately she had to pay an extra $9 for some chips. Would it really cost that much to put a small handful of chips on the plate as we really did not need a big bowl. Even though it all tasted nice, I would not be returning as too overpriced for what we ordered for lunch. Would be more than willing to pay $26 for a proper slice of Spanakopita Pie.

I was recommended Bombora by my neighbour during a staycation, who said it was the best seafood spot around. Since the weather was chilly, I went for the soup and ordered the Salt and Pepper Squid for my husband. As a seafood lover, I was in heaven. The soup was loaded with pipis, mussels, local fish, prawns, and scallops. Everything tasted fresh and juicy, and the broth was absolutely delicious. The portion size was generous, too, which made it even better. The Salt and Pepper Squid was nice as well, crispy and well-seasoned. On top of that, the place has a beautiful spot with a stunning water view, and the service was lovely and welcoming. It honestly made my day. Highly recommended for seafood lovers.

Beautiful spot, great coffee! We came for a coffee, loved the spot so much decided to eat breakfast...oh my gosh, the best eggs and mushrooms!!! We loved breakfast so much we came back for (take-away) lunch. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Hats off to the chef, absolutely blew us out of the water, the sailors delight has to be the freshest and tastiest seafood basket I've ever had, and the Mullet Burger was a stunner!!! Best fish burger in South Australia hands down! (So good we forgot to take pictures of our lunch!) We were visiting Goolwa on holidays and feel we may be back for the food if nothing else, delightful and delicious!

My wife and I turned up on spec for brekkie without a reservation. We were warmly greeted made welcome and immediately found a table, even though staff were very busy. I ordered the scrambled eggs with salmon whilst my wife had bacon and eggs on toast. Both meals were served on time, and very tasty. I ordered a hot cappuccino, skinny milk, half strength…and that’s exactly what I got (I hate it when I order a coffee and it’s served warm!) my wife had a fizz which went down well, too. Whilst we were there we witnessed how hard the staff worked provide a good service - and with a smile! If you like good food, polite and attentive staff, a great and friendly vibe….you’ll not go wrong if you choose to dine here. Big up to everyone at this excellent place….oh…and that’s not even taking into account the amazing views of the river! This is a must do...

If I could give Bombora 6 stars I would! Not only is it situated in the most beautiful place, but the food is absolutely incredible. I never knew food could be a journey - taking you from one flavour to the next (all in the same dish!) The produce is fresh and clearly everything on the plate in front of you is created from scratch. Worth every cent. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable about the food - they guided us to make the right choice to suit what we like. You can see the place has a high level of organisation and professionalism - and it would have to for the amount of people that came through the doors whilst we were there. I loved that even though it was busy, Bombora kept its charm and warmth. This is an huge credit to the staff and management. A beautiful place to...
