Enjoyed a stout and a whiskey here after a long walk along the waterfront. We travelled from Victor Harbor on the Cockle train with the dogs. The whiskey (The Englishman) was divine. The smell of the place was equally delicious. Only downside was no food option and an unwillingness to helpfully recommend the takeaway toasties that are available right next door (@The Wharf Cafe and Bar). We did ask where there was food and staff tried to send us back into town. The fact they avoided mentioning this place literally one minute away suggests there's some issue going on between the two venues. A bit sad considering you could keep people at your distillery sampling MUCH MORE whiskey and beer if they first grabbed a takeaway sanga. It's a nicer vibe when businesses work together. I have tried lots of Australian Whiskey, and Fleurieu Distillery rates as some of the best I have tried. The peated whiskeys share many characteristics with Islay Scotch, which I consider a massive plus!
