The Kiosk Penneshaw — Restaurant in South Australia

Front counter staff were friendly and helpful but 'chef' was nasty, and kitchen staff looked harassed. With the ferry terminal nearby, they should know exactly what times the 'rush' would occur.

Sadly, my first choice - KI Fish and Chips - were showing as closed on Facebook, so I called The Kiosk from the coach at 17:50 and ordered a fish burger to be ready for pickup at 18:45 (so I would have time to eat before boarding the ferry). I arrived at The Kiosk a few minutes earlier, advised I had ordered, and paid. I really wish I hadn't.

I could see my order sitting in an open container while they packed other orders, and was screamed at by the female 'chef' after asking why it was just sitting there. Sorrentos Pizza used to be our fave place to eat on the island and one of our favourite Pizza places in SA. I tried it out for the first time last night since it changed hands and refurbished itself as The Kiosk. The staff were all awesome 👌 but the pizzas were terrible. The bases were overly chewy and looked undercooked and the pizzas had so much cheese on them you couldn't taste the other ingredients. The menu itself has minimised the range of pizzas it does and added a heap of other typical food options that are already over done on the island, I'd prefer it if they'd kept a larger range of pizzas and done them well still. The pizza here is really good for the price and the hours over the Christmas/New Year period was what brought us here twice during our stay at Kangaroo Island.
