When a bakery has “award-winning” written across its windows, expectations are high, but Waack's Bakery in Stawell absolutely lives up to the hype. What started as a quick stop turned I to a delicious discovery, and we couldn’t leave empty-handed.

We started with a vanilla slice and a coffee, and both were spot on. The slice was creamy, flaky, and just sweet enough, while the coffee was smooth and well-made. As we were waiting, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, and we couldn’t resist grabbing a bag of burger buns to take home for dinner. They looked, felt, and later tasted, amazing.

What really impressed us was the sheer variety on offer. From ready-to-eat sweet and savoury items to a generous selection of breads and rolls, there’s something for every craving. Whether you're after a quick bite or fresh goods to take home, this place has you covered.

Unfortunately we stopped in and were hoping to grab something to eat. The pie warmer was near empty so I asked politely if that was all the pastries as I had 6 people to try and buy for on an interstate drive home, and the response wasn’t very customer service friendly. I’m a super easy going happy to talk to anyone kind of person so was just frustrating to be met with that response.
