We usually go to KHAO fortnightly and love the food; however, we went for a meal on Monday night and the young male who was attending the counter and serving was absolutely the worst waiter I have ever had. His attitude was appalling. We were a table of 6 (the place only holds around 12 people) and the dishes came out almost one at a time over a long period of time after waiting way more than usual for our first dish to arrive and he displayed a miserable attitude when we politely reminded him that we asked for them to all come at the same time like we always do when we eat at KHAO. When we went up to pay, I calmly expressed my disappointment and he said we should have realised that he was flat out and not to expect service under those circumstances and or would you have liked to cook the meals yourself which I could not believe he said to me. Decided to order from Khao Thai following a recommendation from a friend. The spring rolls and fish cakes were very good. Fresh, and tasty. The Pad Thai was ok, but the prawns were a bit tough.

Now I always judge a Thai Restaurant by the quality of their Massaman curry. Unfortunately this one was a fail. The sauce was tasty, but too watery. The worst part about it though was the meat. It was supposed to be slow cooked beef, but this was completely dry! How it it even possible to slow cook some to the point of it turning to powder in your mouth, and tasteless powder at that???

You can’t fake a Massaman curry! You can’t cut corners on a Massaman curry! Places that batch prepare sauce and then chuck meat in at the end...
