Burnside Coffee Den — Restaurant in Sunshine Coast Regional

The coffee is fine, but don’t buy the cabinet food. This is my honest review of how the experience felt. Staff were peaceable but a little disengaged. It wasn’t busy. waited 15 min for a toasted ham/cheese croissant, of which costs 8$ standard and another 1$ for the privilege of getting it toasted. Also, the ham was mostly flavourless and the cheese was plastic and overpoweringly sticky. I also had to ask it to be toasted again after receiving it ‘toasted’ but only warm and the cheese hadn’t melted at all. Not buying that 9$ croissant again. I would understand if it had more ingredients inside and a better cheese. I bought a caramel slice which didn’t even taste like caramel. All my partner and I tasted was the base which was like cardboard (not an over exaggeration either). I asked for it to be cut in half twice and received it three times uncut but on the third with a knife inside. I was ultimately happy to cut it myself but my request was ignored.

I wouldn’t normally say anything but to wait twenty minutes in total for two cabinet items and two coffees for 26$, being ignored, and cheap...

My family and I just had an amazing burger at the Coffee Den Burnside. This shop is under new management and they are also now open in the evenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday's. We decided to give them a try and boy are we glad we did. The burgers were very yummy and our milkshakes and ice coffee were fantastic too. Nice too see this shop open up at night on these 3 nights and that they also do light meals for when you don't want anything too big. We will going to try their breakfast too. The other thing is they are extremely affordable. Oh and their hot coffee is wonderful too. The owner is lovely to talk too and has supplied puzzles and a few games for children ( and big kids 😀)to play. We enjoyed playing Uno with our grandson while waiting for our meals. This understated place surprised me very pleasantly. The eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection and a gluten free option was provided for me. I asked for extra hot coffee and I got it! You’d be surprised how many places can’t do that. It was good coffee too. Then the dessert was utterly delicious to top it off! I had an orange cranberry cake with white chocolate icing and they heated it up so the icing went all oozy…..and they served it with whipped cream……will...
