What a waste of time and money ordering fish and chips from this business. We were told this place had the best food on Golden Beach. Well you cannot believe everything you hear I have learnt The cost of two pieces of battered fish plus chips was $36. The fish batter was burnt on the outside and the fish and inside the batter was raw ie uncooked. I fed the fish to dogs and kept batter to take back to show staff the uncooked congealed mess. Hoping for an apology and at least half reimbursement for inedible product I was told to wait for owner to turn up. The supposed 15 year old (chef) told me no refund as I did not bring it all back only uncooked rubbish. The oil is too hot I explained to her as burning the outside and undercooked the inside. Was told to wait my choice in quite rude terms. I then questioned her cooking skills which I presume needed attention. Went next door to caravan.park to enquire who owned the Cafe? We have been coming here for years and they have usually being quite consistent and fresh. Not sure what has happened in the last few months but they are going downhill quickly. A few weeks ago we got a seafood basket which was completely missing calamari. When we went back and told them about it the girl behind the counter literally just said "Oh okay" that was it, no offer to give us some or anything. We were looking for somewhere in Caloundra to have a late Sunday lunch. Everywhere was full and parking in central Caloundra is a nightmare so we drove a little further south to Golden Beach and found Cali Breeze instead. We were very glad we did. Their beef burgers are quiet easily the best we have eaten in many, many years! Generous portions, beautifully presented, beef patties well cooked, flavoursome and HOT, lettuce presented as fresh leaves not limply shredded, and abundant fresh tomato and beetroot.
