Multiple occasions we've been received by extremely rude customer service. This time we had booked a 70th, months in advance. We supplied balloons and asked politely if they could be arranged on the table for our arrivals. We were threatened with a "you better not be intoxicated", which had no reason to even be raised as an issue. Apparently it was too hard to put balloons on the table. We also requested a table inside but that wasn't done either. We were placed at a table with no light, couldn't even read the menu. Won't be coming back.
In reply to the response: The table was originally requested as outside "weather permitting". However, when we came in to drop the balloons off (early morning) we waited a long time to be served, and when trying to hail someone, who kept walking past and ignoring us, about handing them in. She just took them. We asked don't you want to know our name or table? She said she was too busy and said we'd need to speak to the manager. It seemed like it was a bit short staffed, despite hardly anyone being in the place. We specifically requested to be inside (for the air conditioning). We asked for the balloons to be setup on the table for our arrival, which would be fine for an indoor table (which we were told was okay).
Yet when arriving, no balloons and again staff were short spoken, impolite and not apologetic at all. Frustrated we left and went to the powerboat club instead.
This place used to be really nice and rarely had to wait long at the door. But now there is rarely someone to greet you. The place can be completely empty but apparently "there's no seats as its all booked". Even though the reservations aren't for another 2 hours. Truly disappointed that our local has...
Read moreI hate to get on here and have to say something but when a venue is given all the right opportunities to make up for things yet act like your not even there its sad. Today you were understaffed, i also manage restaurants and bars so i get it... it's tough and stress gets to you. However, when i approached the bar to order, a woman who spoke to me and my pop (ex former police commissioner) you spoke to us like dirt, rolling your eyes, kept getting frustrated, treating him like a robot. You said to us max 45mins. Food arrived 2 hours later. In this time, not one staff member cleared the 4 dirty tables outside, not once did anyone come to apologize, I wiped my own table myself and then when the food arrived a staff member put the food down and ran off with no customer service at all. The steak me and my mother ordered $80 for both was full of fat and grizzle, Salad was old and brown, fake mash and cooked well done after ordering med-rare. Then after finishing the man who i suppose runs the place... who was in fact so rude to the elderly rushing them at the counter, walked back and forth after we had finished not asking us how our meal was, not apologizing on the wait, we walked out passed all 4 staff members and no body said goodbye, no smiles nothing. I get what it's like being understaffed and busy, but regardless you give service, you keep your venue clean and you offer a soft drink or at least apologize. I stood in the middle of the venue as i was leaving looking at your staff with a smile expecting some sort of a "thanks for coming" You all looked through our group and everyone else that was leaving. First time and will be my last. Adapt to your stress and don't forget we are all paying your...
Read moreWhile the food at Pelican Waters Tavern impressed us, the overall experience was marred by disappointing staffing issues. We endured a 25-minute wait for 3 drinks ordered through Me&U, only receiving them after confirming the order at the bar. The staff appeared relaxed to the point of being disengaged, leaving room for improvement in customer service.
A suggestion for improvement would be to focus on staff training to enhance customer interactions. The option of eliminating Me&U and promoting face-to-face ordering might streamline the process and reduce such delays.
On a positive note, the atmosphere was enjoyable, but seating arrangements left something to be desired. Our inside table, adjacent to an outside table, created an odd dynamic with people we didn't know. This led to some confusion and awkward moments, adding a niche aspect to consider for future patrons.
The ribs were absolutely great though. Fell right off the bone.
In summary, Pelican Waters Tavern has potential, with fantastic food and a pleasant atmosphere, but addressing staffing and seating concerns would undoubtedly elevate the overall...
