I wanted to give it an extra star just because I think GyG is a better option than comparable fast food joints. When prompted to break it down by food, service and atmosphere I had to remove an overall star.
The food is ok. It's nothing special but there is more for people sensitive to gluten.
The service is patchy at every GyG and it's made even harder by the loud music and staff not bothering to repeat your order back (probably because it's too loud). During the past week or so I have been to the Birtinya store numerous times while visiting the nearby hospital. The first time the girl who served was very sweet but she added an extra taco to my order and I accidentally paid for it just before I realised. She was trying to figure out how to fix it but it was taking too long and I felt sorry for her so I took the extra taco. When calling out people's orders her voice was also too weak to cut through the sound of music and people talking (not for want of effort on her part). Even if you watched her intently it was hard to hear the number. The next time I went they tried to sell me a large when I ordered a mini but I had learned from last time and corrected it before paying.
The atmosphere is awful inside. It looks fine but it's a small store with lots of reflective surfaces so the music and sound of people trying to talk over the music make it very stressful. I went and ate at the dirty tables outside. Oporto nearby has hardly any customers but a much bigger, nicer store. If they had better gluten free options I might have gone there more.
Hopefully I don't need to visit the hospital anymore so I can go to my local GyG in Acacia Ridge - not perfect but generally a much better...
Read moreOrdered 2 reg burritos, one in a meal and a kids meal (burrito, chips & drink). Guy only charged me for one regular meal and one kids meal. I didn’t think twice when paying because it was over $30 so sounded right. Got home, realised it was wrong phoned the store to tell them they made a mistake. Employee pulled up my order and pointed out that I got what i paid for which honestly makes it worse.
I thought I had missed out on dinner but my daughter didn’t want her burrito so I thought I was in luck. No such luck for me as it was almost inedible. Literally a tiny wrap filled with slimy rice and almost no chicken. No wonder she didn’t eat it. I can’t imagine any kid would go near one of those burritos if that’s the standard.
Wife said hers was the same.
I honestly don’t know how they could charge so much for a regular burrito full of rice, a tiny burrito full of rice and 2 chips and 2 drinks.
The store didn’t seem busy at all honestly and the guy in the first window was taking my payment and trying to take an order at the same time which I’m guessing is what he did with the car before me and is probably why he stuffed my order up. Next window literally had 3 girls visible just casually chatting away. Still felt like it took so long for them to get my meal out.
Honestly do not get the hype. A Mrs Mac pie from the servo has more flavour and probably more meat then those burritos.

Read moreI order from this Guzman store all the time. Last night I had next to no meat in my chicken burrito bowl even though I ordered extra meat. They gave me extra of the cheap filling that I didn’t ask for though! The chicken has been separated in the photo for reference.
Today I went through the drive through and they got my order completely wrong. It took them three times, four team members and they still didn’t get it right. How many people does it take to change a lightbulb comes to mind?
The girl was rude and tried to make me take the order even though it wasn’t correct. After three failed attempts at getting my order correct I took the order back into the store where the manager told me that I apparently do this a lot. I’m assuming he meant letting them know if the order isn’t correct. I ended up taking the meals back as they were incorrect and cold and got a refund. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from two members of that team though including the manager.
It’s very sad that they put up such an argument about the order being incorrect like it was coming out of their own back pocket. It’s also interesting that the manager said I do this often but look at the reviews here and it’s evident that they provide bad customer service often…
No more dealing with this team of arrogant pieces of work!
