We came into Yasmin (Jasmine 🌺) resteraunt on a busy Sunday evening. The place was packed, buzzing with laughter and chatter, and the waiters zipping backwards and forwards like worker bees.
The place was almost full and we should have booked before hand ( I'm told the bookings are not taken same day and need to be beforehand). The team made some room and gave us a really nice table. It wasn't too close to the counter or the entrance door.
The new renovations look amazing. Although the old murals and carving were really good too. The new style is a modern arabesque look with 3D arches brass panels lining the walls with LED backlighting. The new grey patterned paint looks really good with the white and brass colours. The new tables and chairs are really comfy and cushy too. The resteraunt has doubled in size and there is another room suitable for modest functions and modest celebrations.
The staff were amazing. Both Amheds at front of house and the boss were really good to us. Always checking in if we needed anything else and making sure the kids were happy and entertained.
For food so fresh and succulent I was surprised it came out to us so quick. The mixed plates, fries, soups, skewers, dips, fresh maze bowls, mansaf and garlic sauce were all on point.
The team was very respectful, hospitable and kind to my kids. So much so that I insisted to go next door and buy them fresh fruit cocktails and ice-cream from the Tropicana Store. They did accept my offer after some initial resistance.
Thanks to Yasmin Resteraunt Punchbowl for an amazing experience after such a tiresome and big day. Definitely worth the drive. Look forward to seeing you many more times in the future with...
Read moreAl Yasmin Restaurant (also known as Jasmin 1) in Punchbowl is highly regarded by its customers for a variety of reasons. A great review would typically highlight the following key aspects: "Authentic, Delicious Food with Generous Portions!" "My friends and I had an amazing dining experience at Al Yasmin. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and full of life. It's clear this is a beloved local spot, and for good reason! The food was the absolute star of the show. We ordered one of the mixed platters, and it was a feast for the senses. Every component was incredibly fresh and full of authentic Lebanese flavor. The meats were perfectly cooked and juicy, and the dips like the hummus and garlic sauce (toum) were simply divine. The bread was fresh and warm, perfect for scooping up every last bit of deliciousness. The portions are incredibly generous—we definitely left with our bellies full and some leftovers to take home. It's fantastic value for the quality and quantity you receive. The staff were also lovely, friendly, and efficient. Our food came out quickly, and they were very accommodating. Al Yasmin truly delivers on its promise of traditional, hearty, and no-frills Lebanese dining. It's a must-visit for anyone in the area looking for a...
Read moreSince new owners and store rebuilt from “fire” damage, I have noticed that the quality of food and service has deteriorated. Being a “white” guy these guys think I don’t know what should accompany their dishes even though I’ve been ordering from Jasmine’s Punchbowl for almost 20 yrs. No fried bread with fatoosh, no yogurt with the mansaf and pre made falafel that taste like stale kebab shop ones and stale bread. These guys always had fresh bread that came with their food. I was told 10-15 over the phone but ended up waiting 30 minutes plus wait time to make yogurt when I was told that he “forgot” it…. BS. Finally, girls wandering down from the kitchen with orders and no communication with waiting customers, they would just place on the counter and wander away with no sense of customer service or urgency and the guy behind the counter too busy with personal calls than paying attention to the numerous customers waiting for their food. Cash and pay ID only. These new owners seem sooo dodgy. Yeah, store looks nice now that the Chinese restaurant next door conveniently burnt down and now turned into additional seating area that is usually closed off. Looks like I’m going to have to drive a bit further to Bankstown Jasmine’s to get a...
