We just wanted to say how thankful we were that we picked Angelo’s for our wedding reception on April 2nd 2022.

When you have to consider a venue to hold a wedding reception, you often feel that you somewhat need to be critical and selective of what services a wedding venue can offer you. Whether this is the food, seating arrangements, location, view and staff that will assist your evening.

My wife first alerted me to consider Angelo’s for our wedding reception in 2020. When I made inquiries as who I should speak to, I was put in contact with Guy who is the head manager. From our earliest conversations, Guy was reassuring and stated that everything would happen and there would not be a problem. Upon hearing these words of confidence very early on, I was a little hesitant as we hadn’t delved into the finer details of the event. However I didn’t need to be hesitant as Guy delivered on every planned outcome and alteration of our wedding plans.

Due to COVID-19, we had to reschedule our wedding reception at least once which altered our dates and guest numbers. Because our guests numbers had changed, our table configurations also changed. Guy however was happy to help and gave his reassurance that everything could occur as originally planned and there would not be a problem.

When I asked if we could try the meals that our guests would eat for the evening, Guy stated “that’s no problem”. So, my wife and I were able to try a variety of entrees and main meals a few weeks before. This allowed us to pick a great selection of meals for the night which were amazing. When our wedding reception came together on the evening of April 2nd, it all went smoothly. The food came out on time, the waiters were attentive and Guy made sure we were enjoying the occasion.

Ultimately it was not us however that gave the verdict of how well Angelo’s catered for our wedding reception. It was confirmation from our 60 plus guests. So many of our guests came up and told us how great the food was, how the flavours of the dishes were amazing and the quality of what was delivered was stupendous. The food and dining experience made our guests feel at ease and happy. That made our experience happy and a great evening to remember.

We didn’t get a chance to thank the chefs that night but we wanted to extend a big thank you to all the kitchen staff that helped prepare all the food we ate that evening. By the time we got an opportunity to say thank you, most of the kitchen staff had gone home. Thank you for making the food fantastic for us!

Guy, we wanted to say thank you for making our whole experience from start to finish so easy and simple. You always delivered on your words and promises and that means a lot to both of us. Thank you so much.

We hope to be back at Angelo’s soon to share a great dining experience. If you are thinking of having your wedding reception at Angelo’s, don’t hesitate to seriously consider this venue in your future...

I am not one to leave bad reviews for businesses (all my other google reviews are 5 stars), but my recent experience with Angelo's management and owners outraged me enough to take the time to leave one. So congratulations!!

Next time you book Angelo's for your event, you better pray you don't lose a loved one cause it comes with a fine and a nasty comment!

Story time: We initially really liked Angelo's. We had booked it exclusively for our son's christening in 2021 and were quite impressed with the service and food. We decided to book it again this year for our second son's Christening, again exclusively, and we had paid the $2000 deposit. A month before our event, my mum unexpectedly passed away, which was a huge shock to the whole family but also took its toll on myself, a new mum dealing with a newborn, postpartum and now losing my mum. We decided on the same day to cancel the function (understandably), and we promptly notified the restaurant so they have A WHOLE MONTH to rebook the day.

Management spoke to the owners who decided that they'll keep $1000 and give us the other $1000 credits to use, instead of refunding the deposit. We weren't impressed by the lack of understanding but we didn't argue. We decided to proceed with the baptism with direct family and still booked Angelo's for it. The staff were lovely and nice on the day BUT then someone dropped a comment that "the business is losing money today, you know". That comes from a restaurant that is naturally open on Saturdays, had a month notice, was due to a death and we still went back......

So not only that they kept the money but were insensitive enough to drop such a comment. We then complained about their general attitude towards the situation and the manager said he'll speak to the owners to give us a call to sort it out. Lo and behold .. they never called. So congratulations on your $1000 and apologies that my mum's death was such an inconvenience to your business.

P.s. All other providers we had booked for this event (including much smaller businesses) have been completely understanding, refunded the deposits and...

“Wedding Entree Disaster under New Management”

We held our wedding for 77 guests on November 2024 at $175/person.

To our absolute disappointment our entree’s were significantly different to what we expected & requested. It is appalling that we were not permitted a wedding menu tasting despite requesting it and we were mislead to believe our entree’s would be fresh & made “daily in-house”(which is promoted on their website).

The spiced penne seafood marinara was not fresh at all, the pasta and marinara mix were from packets. Which was visually obvious through the lack of fresh seafood, pasta and flavour. This was false advertising and pasta was NOT made daily in-house. The beef ragu was cold, bland and in some servings there was barely any beef.

We complained to the restaurant manager immediately after entrees were served at our reception. We then emailed a formal complaint to the owner (Deep Gujral) after returning from our honeymoon. After 6 weeks, 4 emails & 1 phone call requesting for the owner to contact me to discuss our issue - still NO REPLY. The owner has been so unprofessional and unreasonable, with no communication from him whatsoever.

This business is within the first year since an ownership change and the owners total disregard for dissatisfied customers will definitely lead to it’s demise

Update We raised a Dept of Fair Trading complaint and we now have Gordon (Restaurant Manager) claiming he offered to have the unsatisfactory meals newly served… what an absolute lie as he only said I’ll let the kitchen know. Don’t waste your cash and time with this new management. Still no responsibility taken and what a shame this once was a beautiful...

From the moment we walked in I noticed the ambient lighting and well suited music, I was warmly welcomed, we were early and thought it would be nice to sit at the bar and watch the bar attendant make drinks, one issue no fruit for mocktails (pregnant/non alcoholic options are limited) but the bar man did manage to find some raspberry purée of some sort and made me a nice drink (still, a great mock-tail was what I had my hopes on). We sat at our table, perfect position away from the larger groups and the food came at perfect intervals (almost too fast absolutely zero wait time between meals), starters amazingly fresh warm bread with balsamic glaze and warmed olives. Entree delicious well seasoned pan seared prawns with an array of complimented sides. Mains, duck breast for me (perfectly cooked) and steak for him (medium rare to perfection with chips and salad as two side options). All were large generous portions. I even made room for dessert, which was ok pavlova lemon syrup cake, I just didn’t feel it was the freshest dessert options (given they had no fruit for my mock-tail I don’t have high hopes on fresh dessert). I noticed more staff then they probably needed but that meant I was never waiting for even a moment. I will highly recommended this venue (looks great for a wedding). I look forward to returning again, this establishment has been in business for many years under the same management, but they have certainly managed to keep up with the times with a well rounded menu and super clean atmosphere (maybe get rid of the fake plants in the toilet).

Prior to our arrival we took a stroll in Prince Edward Park and indulged in the beautiful scenery and fresh air. Great location I must say. I requested to have a window seat because my partner and I were celebrating two occasions- his birthday and our anniversary. At the restaurant were seated at a table with a beautiful view. Upon finishing our meal I requested the cheque to which our waiter asked "no dessert?" to which we kindly declined. We sat and wondered what was taking so long for our cheque to come...when the waiter placed spoons and a plate of cookies on our table and said "just a moment the rest is coming." You had to be there to see our face, it lit up like we were kids again. Just the excitement and anticipation. Why did we need spoons to eat cookies we didn't order?? Then our waiter brought us a plate of gelato which had "Happy Birthiversay" written on it! He also placed a sparkler and a candle on our table. This was truly a magical experience for the both of us..even I was taken by surprise and it wasn't even my surprise birthday lunch! I want to say thank you for the manager for paying such close detail to their customers and truly exceeding our expectations. We felt very cared for. I highly recommend Angelos, this experience truly set us up for a great day.
