Baked & Co. — Restaurant in Sydney

The customer service from this company is nothing short of appalling. They use deceptive marketing via social media, and ignore customers who complain.

I saw an ad on Instagram which showed three donuts, each with jam and custard oozing out of them. That pic was enough to get me to purchase the same donuts. They looked awesome. But when I got them, I was sorely disappointed. There was no jam oozing out of the donut, in fact, there was hardly any jam in them at all. It’s almost as if the person that made them just showed an empty jar jam to the donut and left it at that. I was very dissatisfied with the supplied product.

It’s just a donut. Yeah, sure. But when you pay a premium price, you expect a premium product. So I bought up this issue with them and I was promised to be sent out some replacement donuts. It’s been well over a year, and the replacement donuts have not yet arrived. I suspect they’re waiting on a shipment of jam to make sure that the replacement donuts are up to scratch.

In the last year, I’ve seen many ads on social media, using the exact same photo which sucked me in. I would often leave scathing reviews, calling them out for being dodgy donut dealers with no morals, yet all of my posts get deleted. I’ve been blocked by them on both Facebook and Instagram. Not that I care about being blocked, but I care that they’re still in business and more than likely still ripping people off with products that don’t meet the customer’s expectations, and then totally ignoring them, or even worse, as in my case, promising to rectify the situation, and then just ignoring them afterwards.

So, in Australian Consumer Law, there is a provision which states that a product must match the description provided. Given that photos form part of the description, and the supplied product was nothing like the donut in the picture, Baked & Co. would most certainly be in...

Our first order was pretty good except the bread was particularly hard (seemed stale, certainly not freshly baked as you’d expect). Everything else we ordered was pretty decent so we ordered again a couple of days ago.

Unfortunately this time our suspicions about the lack of freshness were confirmed, apart from the doughnuts that where’s excellent the croissants where very old/stale and the bread was so stale we could barely cut it with a sharp bread knife and when we hit it on the breakfast bar it sounded like a hammer! Super sun-filled and airy space with such a pleasant, happy vibe and plenty of seating. You can see the pastry chefs working away in the back section! 👩🏻‍🍳👨🏻‍🍳 Great selection of cold drinks including fresh juices, yummy coffee, delicious pastries and sweets like fresh danishes, donuts, croissants (and almond croissants), scrolls.. the list goes on. Also have an equally delicious selection of savoury food including a variety of bagels (?) stacked up with tasty goodness. Everything looks super clean and super fresh.
