I didn't get to try the food as I was told I couldn't order as our mothers group could no longer me accommodate there. One of our group booked a table for 12 with prams the night before and we were told this would not be a problem. However on arrival, we were instantly made to feel unwelcome and told by staff that we would need to be out by 11:30am as they lunch bookings which were more important. We had booked for 10:30am. As 11:30am came and went, one of our group went to order a coffee and was told that "you have to understand, you need to be out of here by 11:50am, so you cannot have anything". The cafe was 1/2 empty at this time and there were certainly no hoards of people at the door. We eventually left around 12pm and still there were no new people arriving for lunch. We could understand if the staff had admitted they had overbooked and tried their best to accommodate us, but instead we were made to feel that this was our fault and were continually told "next time you book, you have to tell us". Well, we won't be booking again and will instead go down the street to Cafe Long Shot who had no problems accommodating us when we showed up with no booking after leaving Cafe Beehive. Very...
Read moreLoved the food and friendly, helpful service but was disappointed by a few things. The chairs were agonisingly uncomfortable flimsy wooden cafe style chairs... not suited to people with lower back problems. After enjoying a 2 hour lunch there, I stood up stiff and in pain. Although I enjoyed the overall flavour and ingredients not to mention the fact that it was served lovely and piping hot, the mushroom fettuccine was too salty before I had added anything to adjust the flavour to my liking. My flat white with almond milk was clearly served with sweetened almond milk... I have always had unsweetened almond milk added in my flat white whenever I order it... I am on a low sugar diet so did not appreciate this plus do not like the sweetness. Finally 2 of the servers went around the restaurant wielding Dettol brand (I think) spray disinfectant bottles, spraying and wiping down the tables after customers had left while lots of other customers were still eating. I know the tables need to be wiped down but it was done in such a spectacularly indiscreet way that it served to ruin any ambience in the atmosphere. I got a slight whiff of the spray which I did not appreciate since...
Read moreWalked into this place and was standing there for an awkward moment as the staff there didn't seem to know what to do. Staff although friendly, seemed scattered and unorganized. Took over 20 mins to bring the coffees out. I ordered poached eggs but was so over cooked they came out as boiled. Place was out dated and smelt moudly. Suggestions - allow customers to order at the counter - quality check their food and don't apply butter / oil on the toast without asking their customers. Train your staff so they know simple customer service like greeting staff, checking tables to take orders and being more aware. It would be a good idea to refresh the place with a bit of air and change the furniture which seems to be...
