On the evening of Friday, 9th May, my husband and I came to your establishment with a group of friends and family to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. (We had come from the Gold Coast, so we are not locals to Sydney, which makes the whole experience even worse)
Firstly, upon arrival, my husband and brother-in-law were ID'd... But my sister and I were not- We all found that rather odd- lack of consistency- Surely everyone at this type of establishment should be ID'd? And if not- why not? I'd like to also inform you that we are all 40-50... With the men being older than my sister and I, and certainly not looking under 25- which I believe is the parameters for checking ID-Correct me if I'm wrong.
Secondly, We ordered our meals and they were all very average- apart from mine. Mine was completely inedible! I ordered the crispy skin chicken meal, and the chicken was so dry! I returned the meal and said I wasn't able to eat it, and was met with a rude comment of "Did you try adding sauce?" I told the girl, Adding sauce is not the problem- The chicken is too dry and I can't eat it. She then called another lady, and I repeated my conundrum .. The 2nd lady was by far better and asked if I would like a replacement meal. I said no thank you, but I am just letting you know, so you can give the chef the feedback.
We continued to have drinks, and our other friends arrived. We were at our table enjoying the music, the ladies having a dance in our area, while the men sat, drank and chatted- and the men continued buying rounds- For context, each round was, 1 bottle of prosecco, 1 bottle of Mumm champagne, and 3 Chivas Regal on the rocks for the men. Safe to say we are not a bunch of 18-year-olds buying the cheapest drinks...( We had in the end bought 4 Mumm, 4 Prosecco and 1 Riesling plus Chivas to go with each round). So here is where my final and most important of issues comes in. My husband went up to the bar to order another round. He was told they can no longer serve shots after a certain time. My husband said, "I'm not asking for shots- I'm asking for Chivas on the rocks- the same thing we have been ordering all night. He was declined again, and so he went to the toilet. Whilst using the toilet, the Asian bouncer with tattoos taps him on the shoulder (literally mid urinating) and asks him to come have a chat outside. (My husband noted that there was no regard for the young boys who were doing lines of a white powder in plain sight) After he'd finished using the bathroom, my husband followed the bouncer outside. The bouncer closed the door behind him and left my husband outside. When he tried to come back in, the outside bouncers told him he was kicked out. When he asked what for, they shrugged and said they didn't know. My husband asked if he could come tell his wife and friends, and was declined. This is where my biggest complaint is. My husband was kicked out of your establishment for no apparent reason at all. He had done absolutely nothing wrong. This cut our lovely evening short and, in turn, ruined my 10 year anniversary. We were all extremely furious at the way a respectable, middle-aged man was treated when he had done absolutely nothing but try to have a good night out!
I have called at least twice a week for over a month to get an answer into if this has been looked into and kept getting told that the Manager is looking into it and he will get back to me. It has been another month since my last call checking if anything had been looked into as the last couple of weeks my calls have not been answered or returned.
I am extremely disappointed at this venue in every aspect from the night of the incident (9/5/2025) to the lack of communication...
Read moreAs someone who works in retaiI & front line healthcare, I understand how difficult times are. However I downloaded the ‘Rewards Me’ app and followed all the instructions to comply with the COVID restrictions so I could support a local business as per the business website. I agree with a previous reviewer who mentioned the app is actually an obvious ploy to force you to join a ‘rewards’ program under the guise it is a means to track COVID.
We were ‘greeted’ at the door so to say by a blonde woman who snapped at me “Have you made a booking with your app?”. I did, especially as we had a dog with us.
This attitude is actually a norm at this establishment, however I think everyone has bad days. But when every occasion is a bad day.....I start to look at management.
Tables are never cleared. I run my own drinks & food. Apparently during COVID, they offer table service. That never happened.
To be honest, the most obvious sign of bad management is when staff chat to colleagues at the bar whilst ignoring patrons, allow your kitchen staff to sleep on the couches (maybe because they are overworked?) and also think it is appropriate to allow your staff to do your work for you whilst you sit on your laptop ‘working’.
I am sure according to your ‘discretion ’ I will now be barred for writing this review. But you have my name & contact number & and you can look at your cameras if you think I am being difficult. I salute the staff & would be happy for Memento to reply to me. I am lucky to be an essential worker. Disappointing when you still think clearing tables is ‘above you’. I’d clear tables any day of the week as long as I had a job.
26/09/2020- UPDATE: Egg on my face! I would like to give credit where credit is due. Have been here twice since my initial review and was so pleased to see that management had taken on my feedback. It seemed like night & day- gave them another go for a casual business lunch and was escorted to my booked table; the staff were lovely & professional and the morale seemed noticeably higher. I even overheard one staff member patiently train a new staff member behind the bar. In the past, they would snap at each other & create an awkward environment for the patrons. Kudos to Jason for following up on the little details- I must say he was key to me even giving the venue a second & third chance. Hope Momento keeps going on this trajectory! We’ll be back to check out the next UFC event in the...
Read moreBellaPizzeria is a company especially known for its delicious pizzas. The company was founded 40 years ago and is still in operation as a credible food and beverage company.
When I bring the pizzas was placed on our table, I was astonished by amazing smell and look so beautiful . The pizza looked elegant, crispy, and spicy. Plus, that pizza was cut into 6 pieces only. Those large and tasty chunks made us feel more hungry.
And, when I took the first bite of that pizza, I felt the taste was superb. Not only the pizza was hot and spicy but also crunchy and healthy. Everything included in that dish was completely fresh. All the veggies (onion, tomato, and capsicum, etc) were beautifully cut and placed on the pizza. Then, other ingredients like prawns , dough, and cheese were properly cooked and had perfect spices. Besides, I found, the overall aroma of that dish was a great balance. And, the cost of that pizza is moderate for a common person. I had the opportunity to speak with the chef of the Mateo pizzeria, a very helpful, professional person with brilliant ideas. I had the honor of tasting the dough of the new menu, usually I don't mind but it was incredible to taste that "light crispy cloud". I hope that one day I will come back to taste what I quickly felt. Love for food and for the company he works for, is transferred to everything Mateo creates.
As I told you, do not limit yourself, dare more, and you will have great satisfaction!!
Well, that's all what I wanted to share with you about Bella Pizzeria. I hope you got the idea of this pizza's quality. If you loved what I shared, to let me know and follow me . For those who don't know me My blog is -My name is Yeh-
