I was a regular to Boom Sushi because I liked their food. But... I ordered food from Boom Sushi via Uber Eats 23july2025 to the value of $75.89. A few minutes later a Boom Sushi staff member rang me saying one part of my order couldn't be met and I would have to cancel my order and make a new order. I asked if I could have something else instead. She repeated that I should cancel my order and make a new order. I cancelled my order, unaware that Uber Eats (Uber Cheats?!) had a 2 minute cancellation policy. Trying to reorder was difficult. Uber Eats kept telling me to contact the restaurant not them and vice versa. Now I had the threat of a cancellation fee and no food. At 8.30pm approximately 23july2025 I received an email receipt (see photos) informing me that because I had cancelled my order after 2 minutes, my card had been used to pay a $75.89 cancellation fee ie the cost of the food I had ordered.. This was a noreply@uber.com email. There is no way to contact anyone from Uber Eats via email or online for help. On 24july25 I again rang Boom Sushi who refused to help me, called me 'old lady', and kept insisting I take the matter up with Uber Eats. But could not or would not tell me how to contact Uber Eats! I used to enjoy the food from Boom Sushi and I feel very disappointed with this shabby treatment. I feel sad for the genuine people who work for Boom Sushi, that they are associated with staff who have poor business practices...

Their attitude toward Uber drivers was absolutely uncalled for condescending, impatient, and just plain disrespectful.
It's one thing to be busy, but there's no excuse for talking down to people who are just doing their jobs, The service overall was slow and unorganized, and the vibe at the front counter made the whole place feel unwelcoming.
