'Roadhouse' welcomes 'all' travellers. Or so I thought. Last Friday I planned on staying the night and at about 9.30 - 10pm an employee, who introduced herself as the 'Manager' accompanied by another employee named Kerry asked how long I intended staying, I told her it was for the night as I had permission from the owner (who lives on the property), Kerry said she would talk to the owner the next day. Read moreThe idea of having to deposit $20 for a shower key is obsurd. No other roadhouse in the entire country has this practice. Im not one of these Hume hwy general freight robots. I drive all over this country, open flat tray specialised freight. So how come the hundreds of other roadhouses from Perth to Darwin and FNQ , ignition keys are sufficient ? The pre prepared food is ridiculously expensive. Example: a tiny little plastic tub the size of your palm with pasta salad in it. Cost $9.90. Not enough parking for a major capital city roadhouse. If your there after 6.30, forget it. Access is one way in, one way out, you cant do laps , once you exit you have to go right around the block, which has a rounabout and 3 sets of traffic lights. The cook staff are...

The food is horrible, the staff are pushy and rude, the fuel prices don’t justify the markup on everything else. This place is more for truckies but as such, they’re (including me) paying for the renos they just did. I hate coming here but it’s here or pheasants nest and that’s just as bad. No one looks after the drivers that paved the way for their business to grow. Almost $60 for a pack of 25’s ciggies too. extortion and capitalism...
