For the most gorgeous, chic and delicious brunch dishes in Southern Sydney, you need to visit this beautiful corner side café in Sans Souci. I dined here recently on a stunning, sunny wintry June day where the sun was out, the coffees were flowing and the dishes were plentiful.

Let's start with the drinks. Order anything from your standard flat white or espresso, or go a bit fancy with a matcha latte. Or feel like something a bit fruity and fresh? There are a range of smoothies and iced drinks to tempt you and cool you down as well.

And as for the food, the menu re-invents classic breakfast and brunch dishes adding modern flair and new flavour combinations.

We tried the following dishes: Coconut chia pudding - enjoyed the creaminess of this chia pudding. Acai berry bowl - for something healthy, this is the go-to dish. The pancakes - fluffy buttermilk pancakes served with berry compote. The French toast - the crispiest French toast I've ever eaten! The secret was in the panko crumb crunch. Smothered in an addictive caramel sauce and topped with nut praline. This dish is was one of my faves. The Rosie benny - as far as eggs benny's go, this is by far the prettiest I've ever eaten with it's signature house-made pink benedict sauce. The corn fritters - one of the best corn fritters around, the amount of juicy corn kernels inside was generous and gave these fitters a nice denseness that was well balanced with the batter. The pretty smash - who doesn't like smashed avo on toast? The Cypriot salad - the blend of freekah, currents, pomegranate, seeds and beetroot hummus was like a party in your mouth!

I can't wait to go back to try the dishes again, this is a neighbourhood gem in San Souci, tucked away in the residential streets, but close enough to the beach.

Note: I dined as a guest of the venue. All views expressed...

AWFUL SERVICE! Food never came! I really wanted to like the place and the aesthetics were amazing but staff were disorganised and very unhelpful. My food was initially not put on the order (despite the waitress double checking the order and getting it right). After following up twice we were informed it was never ordered. THEN after ordering it again the food still hadn’t come (I had been waiting for an hour). Followed up with the waitress twice who brushed off my concerns and said that the kitchen was backlogged with orders. 2 hours and 15 minutes after our initial order and 1 hour after re-ordering, we were fed up and unimpressed with the lack of follow up. We asked the server again about the food that hadn’t come and she failed to inquire or check what was taking so long. It’s honestly so rude and unprofessional to have customers come up to you 5 times inquiring about food that is an hour late and not taking proper corrective steps to look into it. After being fed up with the lack of response and when we realised the waitress (who we had asked again about the missing food) was not going to proactively sort out the issue, we gave up. It turns out that the waitress had served my food to THE WRONG TABLE. Despite giving her ample opportunities to follow up with the order and ask the kitchen (which would have informed her that the food was mistakenly served to someone else) the waitress failed to do so. When confronted the waitress was curt, rude and unapologetic. The other workers were apologetic but not sympathetic to the struggle and the abhorrent service we had. No compensation was given and overall was an extremely hostile and unwelcoming experience. Definitely do not recommend and won’t be going back unless there are major improvements to basic service skills...

Café Bella Dee is a stylish and bustling spot for brunch, with excellent food and a lively atmosphere. It’s on the pricier side, but the quality and presentation make it worthwhile.

☕ The coffee was well made, with some latte art, though the flavour leaned a little on the mild side. Still enjoyable.

🍳 The food was outstanding — beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and the menu had plenty of variety. While the dishes are on the more expensive end, the quality and attention to detail make them feel worth the price.

😊 Staff were friendly and attentive, checking in regularly despite the busy service. The experience felt well managed even with the high demand.

🎨 The décor was impressive both inside and out, with high-end finishes and even the menus styled in an artisan way. The space had a vibrant, lively energy, and it’s clearly a popular spot with people queueing for tables.

🚗 Parking is straightforward, with plenty of free street options close by.

👶 Highchairs were available, and there were a few kids’ menu options. While the prices for children’s meals were on the more expensive end, the food served to little ones was still of excellent quality.

Overall, probably one of the best brunches I've had....

The presentation of the dishes at this café is impressive, but unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't match up. Despite the café's small size, their marketing tactics seem to exceed their capacity to deliver. While the food may look beautiful for Instagram, it lacks flavor and is disappointingly bland. My experience with the Benny dish was particularly unpleasant, as the eggs tasted strongly of vinegar. The kale was undercooked and the smoked salmon was overly salty. The pancakes were basic and overpriced, with only half a banana as a topping few strawberries and ice cream. Furthermore, the pancakes themselves were neither fluffy nor soft. Even the pink latte that I ordered was a letdown, as it arrived as a plain, white milk beverage without any visible pink hue. On the positive side, the coffee for takeout was decent.
