Café Lautrec — Restaurant in Sydney

Food looked great. I didn't get to try it because of the dismal service.

I stood at the counter with 4.or 5 other people while 3 staff did their best to do anything other than interact with customers.

One person made coffee. A second person watched. A third slowly put baguettes into the display. Not one utterance to any of the waiting customers.

I left when the silence went from awkward to plain rude.

It's a shame. The food looked good. But I refuse to give my money to a business that is incapable of basic customer service so I'll never know because I...

Cute French inspired cafe. If you order a large coffee and have it in the cafe itself, it comes in a sizeable mug in Wedgewood blue- very generous and very good too. We didn’t eat but there is a display case at the counter that looks to be full of yummy cakes and pastries. There are two seating areas- one in the main cafe and another in a very interesting shop filled with small antique items. The staff are welcoming and professional. Quaint, with a dash of ooh la la, a nice place to stop if you want to try...

Other places...Underproofed, overcooked, overproofed, undercooked...there's more that can go wrong with the great French (actually, Austrian) crescent than the French loonie that hi wired the twin towers (r.i.p). Here, they make it to the other side in style, backflips and more. The coffee is also better than any Parisian Cafe ive visited. The rest? Who needs more than a great croissant?
