Went to Burgerroo on a Friday night as we are locals of the neighbourhood. It’s certainly not your usual Paddington jaunt and feels a lot more down-to-earth compared to some of the popular dining favourites in the area, with affordable prices to match. The service is friendly and warm. The option to have Kangaroo meat on any of their burgers was appreciated.
The burgers are served on a brioche style bun, they were cooked very well and had tasty toppings with lots of fresh veggies. Though the menu seems to imply some of the burgers don’t have lettuce, they do indeed all come with lettuce! Wouldn’t mind a classic sesame seed bun though.
The chips are interesting and seem to be hand-cut with a flour and spice coating. I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to my chips, and would have preferred either french fries or traditional wedges with less seasoning, or maybe a seasoning salt. Also, chips are served with a mushroom or peppercorn sauce - a nice addition, but I’m partial to tomato or mayo which wasn’t an option.
Overall a good experience but we only just happened to stumble across this place. A letterbox drop introductory offer or something would do wonders to build awareness of the restaurant with the locals. Like, “all burgers $12 Wednesday special!!!”...
Read moreOverall, really nice place! The burgers themselves were well-sized and had a good flavour profile, and the ingredients were of good quality. For a small and recently opened restaurant I was really impressed, definitely worth a try! I had the veggie burger, which was really quite nice. The chips seemed hand cut and fresh but I was a bit unsure about the flour/batter on the chips. I liked the spices, but I think I would have preferred if it were in the form of a salt, or just sprinkled on top. The mushroom sauce that came with the chips was fine, but maybe having an option for aioli or just tomato sauce would be good too. Better advertising is what this place really needs. It would help to see clearer pictures on menus, and more images on this google page, or even a website. I have the benefit of living very locally, and so I saw it about a week ago when walking around the neighbourhood, and my family decided we’d try it out. In the end, I would go back here! Really good ideas with lots of care going into it, but maybe a bit unorganised...
Read moreA local favourite. Staff are friendly and hardworking. All the food is freshly made and delicious. The lemongrass beef is tender and seasoned perfectly (not salty like beef at some other Vietnamese places). All rice paper rolls are made fresh upon order. The beef burger is tasty, served with house made potato fries.
And who doesn’t love a freshly made fruit and veggie juice? Beetroot, carrot, celery, kale, apple, orange, pineapple… (various blends to choose from)… why not balance out your burger indulgence with a fresh juice?
