Brings childhood memories.

About 20years ago or more this shop was located in Chester Hill. Me and my dad would go there at least twice a week when I was a little girl. I didn’t have much good memories when I was young and this was a special treat and memory I have. About 2 weeks ago I was working and my work mate took me to this shop. The taste is the same and I thought it can’t be the same shop. It taste the same... But it’s in this area?’ All these great memories came rushing back from when I was child. I took some of the food back home after work to FAIRFIELD mind you. I said to my Dad. Taste this... I think this is the shop. He tasted it and started to get emotional and we started to talk about the good times we had going there. I was telling my partner about this shop and go figure... he remembers going there when he was a child to this Chicken Shop In Chester Hill. But the shop closed down like 20 or more years ago!

Few days later me and my partner went back and the owner was there in the shop. I ordered our food and I asked her.

Did she used to own a shop in Chester Hill. She said yes like 20+ years ago. I said: I can’t believe it, the only good memories I have with my dad was going to that shop with him and sitting down and eating with him and was something special to me.

I then went on to say that I took some food home for him to try a few days earlier and we started to have all these great memories rushing back to us..... The Lady said she was getting Goose Bumps and couldn’t believe my story.

I went out and told my partner and we sat and ate here and we started to talk about when we was little. I rang my Dad and said “ITS THE SAME PLACE AND THE SAME PEOPLE” Of course I took him food home.

Despite any negative comments about this place, I can tell you it’s the same tasting food from when I was a child, and still friendly... It might sound weird to anyone out there for my Story.... But my Childhood was not good and there was more bad moments then ever any happy times.

The smell and the taste of food from when we are younger is put in our memory for life and when we eat the same tasting food it triggers a memory associated to eating.

I can’t believe I found this place again in my life 20-25years later and me and my dad got to experience all those great memories again...

Thank you so much because I do remember how friendly and kind the people was and for them to still own the business is amazing.

This place used to be 5 stars. My parents would drive us from 40minutes away to have their fried chicken and chips every fortnight. I came here recently many years later to relive old memories only to be severely disappointed at how bad the new chips are. They are so disgusting, hardly have any potato in them and taste like cardboard with a green tinge. The old chips were the best in NSW, perfect crispy to soggy ratio with some of that spicy chicken seasoning and chicken salt. Just glorious. Please please please bring them back if you can otherwise this heritage shop is not going to last. The chicken peices also seem to have shrunk considerably. Luckily the spicy seasoning has...

The man that works here is an absolute pleasure, great customer service & handling of situations. I had accidentally spilt the gravy due to my own clusmyness, & so i go back into the store with the spilt gravy everywhere and ask for a new bag ! i was expecting to just pay for a new bag and walk out, after all it was my fault. But this man not only compensated me a new bag for free HE ALSO gave me another gravy ! after having told him it’s okay & that it was my fault, he still insisted. It’s the little things like this that other customer service workers need to take heed of. anyways 10/10 in all areas concerning chicken...
