Chook A Licious — Restaurant in Sydney

We have been coming to chook for years and it has always been fantastic, unfortunately the last time I was there the food was unusually bad (4ish weeks ago), tonight we decided to get dinner to take to my grandmothers. This is now the second time the food has been EXTREMELY poor. The Chisholm burger was terrible according to my husband, the Rodeo that I shared with my grandma was basically inedible, the chicken was like a thin piece of leather and honestly I thought it tasted like it had been sitting there all day. The fish was average and the chips leave a thick greasy film in your mouth. It is such a shame. I have spent the evening extremely annoyed I spent $60 on food that tasted like it had been made yesterday. Most of it went in the bin. Very upsetting. We won’t be back again to be burnt a 3rd time. Excellent food. Have been coming here for many years and am always so happy with the new items they come up with. My favourites items are the Bellotti Wrap and the Grilled Fish. For dessert there is such a delicious range, and now they have the range of donuts I just can't resist. Theo, Chris and Tina are the best people and can always recommend something when you're not sure what to order. Don't forget to try the yummy chicken or their coffee Just a side note: while the old staff is lovely, I have noticed that some of the newer staff can be a bit rude. There was a young woman waiting for her order at the same time I was, and there were some loud comments made about the way she was dressed by the staff. Regardless of what she was wearing (which was nothing out of the ordinary to be honest) it is in bad taste and bad for business to do...

This place is definitely more than just a gourmet takeaway. With delicious menu that they have, they are definitely underrated. As a start, their coffee was amazing (from Espressini). Now to the dishes I had there. I tried their Hamburger with the lot, with extra patty. Yum. In one big bite, I got to enjoy the juicy patties, egg, sweet pineapple, bacon, lots of cheese and tasty sauce. Now, my favourite dish of all. The Chookalicious wrap. I was told that this is their best seller. Now I understand why. Hands down one of the BEST chicken wrap I’ve ever tasted. The wrap is not just an ordinary wrap.
