Consistently inconsistent. Since opening to present time. Sometimes good...sometimes a let down. The Cafe is one of few in the suburb of Winston Hills. I have grabbed coffee, eaten-in breakfast and lunch, had food or cookies or pastries to go, many times since June opened. The Cafe is in a lovely convenient neighbourhood spot. It is really pretty with a fresh, open plan look. It is well set out with comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors with sun or shade options. Pets are allowed outside. The parking is really easy- right in front of the Cafe or on the street when busy. Great if you're a local, or great if you're driving through. They are the pull factors. However, the biggest let down is that for whatever reason, we have too often seen the 'side-eye' glances between some of the staff. We do actually see you, but still can't work out what warrants that. Nobody needs that. It's not welcoming nor friendly. It costs nothing to be kind, and kindness is actually great for business. Secondly, too many of the times that I have dined in, there has been something wrong with our order. Ordered a frappe, got a latte, ordered poached eggs, got fried. Asked for a particular milk, got whole milk. Got a take away coffee, 2 thirds full. Again. Given the time it can take to actually get your order sometimes, we tend not to send the errors back lest we have to wait again. The food, generally, is nice and can be beautifully presented. We enjoy the bacon and egg rolls, the bruschetta and cookies in particular. Waiting for a take away coffee? I have had other coffee orders jump the queue ahead of me. Whats the criteria?Seriously unprofessional and frustrating if you're just driving through to grab a coffee.

Read moreWe’ve been coming to June cafe for at least 3 years now. Every single time, something goes wrong. But we’ve always given the benefit of the doubt to this place. The only reason we keep coming back is the proximity to the dog park and it is pet friendly.
As I was reading the reviews, I must say I agree with those who commented on the poor service and long wait times. Despite the replies from the owners that it is not their normal standards, I beg to differ, as every time, there is always a wait - whether they are busy or not. We are always either waiting for the menu, to be served our drinks, to be served our food or to be handed cutlery after the food arrives. Someone said that the staff does not even look at them when they first arrive. That is a normal experience for us. Every single time, we have to walk into the cafe and ask someone to serve us.
Today, I ordered the bruschetta which, on the menu said was served with a poached egg but it came without. Mind you for $24 for one piece of sourdough, avo, onions, bocconcini and a drizzle of balsamic, it not the cheapest thing, but I do understand that things are not cheap these days and there plenty of overheads running a restaurant. When I asked the wait staff about it, she was lovely, and brought the egg in a bowl after 10 mins..Honestly, this experience is truly a sad one..What I feel, the lack of care factor. And here we are willing to support a local business. I do hope the owners truly up their game because apart from their rather poor service, we enjoy the atmosphere of this place very much. Plenty of lovely...
Read moreThe atmosphere at the café is great, and the staff were friendly, but they clearly struggle with managing operations. We waited quite a while to place our orders because the person who handed us the menu decided to take a break, leaving us without anyone to take our order. We kept looking at the staff at the counter, hoping someone would notice us and come to our table. Eventually, one of the staff members saw us and sent another girl over to take our order. From where we sat, I could sense a lack of urgency; it seemed like they were leisurely discussing who would take our order.
When one of the girls finally came to us, we placed our order and requested tap water, but the water never arrived. The cutlery was brought to us way after the food arrived. Once our food did come, it was served quickly and tasted good, but there were a few drawbacks. Notably, they don’t serve poached eggs after 12 PM. I also overheard the staff informing the table next to us that they were out of buns for their burger order around 1:30 PM on a Monday, which meant the burger should have been available as a lunch item. My husband ordered the spicy prawn pasta, which tasted okay, but the pappardelle had a strange texture. For a pasta dish priced around $32, the portion size was small.
At the end, when we went up to pay, the guy at the register was busy talking to his female colleague while we looked around for the FPOS machine. Instead of guiding us to the machine and serving us, he seemed preoccupied with his conversation. Overall, I would say it was not an ideal...
