Definitely worth a drive to this lovely restaurant. We came from Horningsea Park tonight and found the staff super lovely, caring and sweet. The ambience is the authentic 90s decor, there is plenty of seating and this place has so many delivery orders continuously coming in too. The chicken fried rice is lovely but can feel a little dry if not consumed without a side dish. The chicken chow mein was really good. Not starchy and corn flour heavy, than many other restaurants. The Mongolian lamb was awesome. Great spice coverage and lovely on the palette. I heard customers over ordering because they wanted leftovers the next day. The staff made a mistake with our order but were super helpful and thoughtful. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward to coming back soon. The food is very reasonable in price and definitely recommend. They give you prawn crackers when you sit down (no one else does!) and have special rewards when you pay above an amount.

We visited this place for the first time and liked its old school, no frills simplicity. Friendly and prompt service, coupled with really tasty food and generous portions really made our visit worthwhile on a very cold evening. Enjoyed the short soup, fried rice and Mongolian beef along with a pot of chinese tea. A lesson we learnt was - ask them to add chilli to the food if you like it hot. Inspite of the beef tasting a bit sweet, it was still an enjoyable meal and we would definitely recommend eating here.

Recently revisited Chow Pine after 12 years and it is still so satisfying. My favourite dishes are the salt and pepper tofu, the satay chicken and the crispy fillet steak Peking style. Their fried rice smells so good too! It hits the spot for comfort food.

If I had a choice of putting no stars I would ! We came in to the store to order our food and got told 30 minutes. We went to the shops and came back and gave an extea 10 minutes of waiting time. So all up, 40 minutes. We went in and our food STILL was not ready ! We then got told another 15 minutes, we gave another 5 minutes, STILL NOT READY !

The waiting time is ridiculous and we have been to chinese resturants that are busier than these guys are and still have our food ready when they say it'll be ready. Definitely not impressed and today will be the first and last day of coming...
