At the time of reviewing this, it’s the second week of the Durk’s grand opening at casula. We used the free $20 vouchers handed out on the grand opening day and there was no limit on how many to use to the total bill. If I was to pay this out of my own pocket, I’d definitely spend the $60 elsewhere. The food is appalling and expensive. The only dish that I did enjoy was the fried chicken tacos 🌮 and you get 3 for $15 👍🏻. The prawn linguine was not a good dish because the selection of ingredients was wrong and it just tasted bad 👎. There was no zucchini ribbon anywhere on the dish, for a $21 pasta dish I expect much more on the plate and a better tasting dish. The Durks signature bruschetta looks nicely presented but the you get salty grilled halloumi with cherry tomatoes halves and a few salad leaves for $16 👎. We order two drinks one called morning star which costs $8 which was smaller than a tallboy glass on the other hand the red velvet latter large $6 was almost the size of a milkshake. Not a good start for Durks but I do hope they take everyone’s comments on board to improve the quality...
Read moreLet me preface this review by saying that I've only sent food back on 2 occasions in the past 10 years of eating out, but today I had to send the chicken schnitzel back because it was cooked beyond death.
To make things worst, the wait staff were extremely rude and not helpful. The service girl couldn't muster the strength to say hello and the boy was awkward and passive aggressive. Both had serious case of resting b face. I've never seen people who hate their jobs more. I was not rude and did not raise my voice when I returned the dish. They could've explained to me that this was how the schnitzel looks because of the "spices" and I wouldn't have re ordered. I think they should clean the deep fryer, change the oil, spices and their attitude. Work to solve problems and don't be passive aggressive to customers that are not...
Read moreTo be honest, the food was made with cheap ingredients. The eggs were terrible, with no flavour, and they weren’t even scrambled properly, the toast was soggy and hash brown barely cooked. The bruschetta was barely edible. The bread was too hard, and whatever pesto was used was yuck. Ingredients seemed quite old.
But the winner of this review were the nuggets. They were the cheapest nuggets a cafe could supply. Slimy- barely- any-chicken nuggets. My child who eats anything refused to have another bite, and I don’t blame her.
I had high hopes, and I barely ever do reviews, However honestly, the food is so cheap. There’s no quality at all. For the prices, you’d expect more. The owners need to invest in buying quality ingredients, and making quality food their priority.
The girls working there were...
